Pretty certain that page just gave my phone butt AIDS.

Looks good with my $45 amazon wedding ring. Really like the 40mm size and flatter face compared to my 42mm seiko diver.

I've got a Seamaster Professional that I bought 8 years ago. It's great and transitions from jeans and a T-Shirt all the way to a suit or even black tie. Seems to be in your price range as well. Here is a link.

WatchRecon.com aggregates all for sale items on watch forums.

Still have to “buy the seller” but it makes it more convenient if you’re looking for something specific.

I have traded away some beautiful watches because they were uncomfortable as shit on the wrist. Will always be my #1 for a watch that is going to get a lot of wear time.

My daily wearer, a BLNR I can barely tell is on at times.

anyone have experience with Grand Seiko's? I've been in the market for a $3-5k watch and have been eyeing a couple of their models. I imagine the cost of ownership is much less than something like a Speedmaster or even Datejust because it's more of a quartz-like movement?

If I’m spending 3-5k on a watch I’m not even looking at Seiko. It’s not like a car, cost of ownership / watch maintenance isn’t something imo that factors in.

Joma has a really good deal on a Sea Dweller.

Sea dweller is much thicker. Approximately 40%. Unfortunately most authorized dealers won’t have them in the case for you to try on.

But a Datejust. If you want a Seiko, get a King Seiko for $500 for your formal occasions or a cool $200 automatic diver.

But hell man, get the known commodity at that price point.

If you want a Seiko spend $500-$1,000. Great value in low to mid level. Spend $5,000 on a GS people will assume you have a great low to mid level watch.

Well, it was mine if I wanted it. I’d been on a waiting list for about 6 months... Beautiful watch & worth all the hype it’s received in the last year, but I passed. Just didn’t love it.

It depends on what you're buying it for. If you're buying for name recognition and to impress people, go with a Speedmaster or used Datejust. But if you want something with incredible finishing and a super accurate movement, a Grand Seiko is tough to beat. True watch people routinely rank them above comparable Rolexes, Omegas, etc. Their Hi-Beat and Spring Drive movements are beautiful and the level of finishing is second-to-none. I love the Spring Drive with the smooth sweep second hand.

Na, it was just about the perfect size & l love the vintage look. Unlike the normal BB, you could wear it under a dress shirt/suit.

Wife convinced me to pass, in favor of a Speedy or Seamaster 300 master co-axial

I don't get any Bauhaus vibe, or similarity, from this military/pilot watch :idk:

It's still a pale, simple dial with Arabic numerals and 9-eater (instead of the 6-eater). Bauhaus and pilot watches share similarities for a reason.

That Seamaster will easily sell for $1500 on some of the forums - maybe even $2000 in good condition and with box.
