I noticed that as soon as I posted it. I was like . I can't really hate on people for hating on the lineup. The top blows. I'm really loving everything else though. I have a strong suspicion that I will be more torn on scheduling conflicts this year more than any previous year.
I'm already getting worked up over scheduling. Do you think the top 2 billed acts will get What Stage? I don't think so as I remember there being an exception for deadmaus to play that late on what stage. I assume Gambino and Phish are both what stage, but I think Post Malone will be what stage and Odesza will be late night which. Bonnaroo better realize that PM is a shitty headliner and schedule something like Jim James or the national at the same time. Ideally I would love for saturday to go like this: the National sunset show at what or which, Jim james during PM, lonely islands late night, and then JRad 4 hour sunrise set. Looks like we could get late night metal tent on Friday. I'm just hoping beach house plays a late night show. Parquet Courts to Gambino to beach house and then split the remainder of night between Phish and metal tent. Of all the EDM acts odezsa is the one I hate the least so depending on state of mind then I could check that out too.
A New World In Bonnaroo’s Woods Get ready for a brand new beautiful experience in the Eastern woods of Bonnaroo. We’re opening up a section of Bonnaroo’s wooded landscape that has never been publicly available to fans – and it’s gonna be a doozy. Expect out-of-this-world experiences with bands, artists and light-based art that has never been seen in the campgrounds before. Stay tuned, we’re excited about this one!
Had dreams all night last night that I was there. So needless to say the playlists have been going strong today.
Unofficial Top 5 (no order) The Record Company JRAD Rival Sons All Them Witches The Nude Party HM Kikagaku Moyo I could do several HMs.
March of last year. It supposedly never got put up because of permit issues. Or that was there excuse anyways. I'm hoping newly revamped means an upgrade over the existing. Here is the update on the website: VIP Plaza The newly revamped VIP Campground Plaza features air-conditioning, private bars, complimentary wifi, daily yoga classes, games, live video feeds of the festival performances, and much more – available exclusively to VIP & Platinum patrons.
VIP Vendor like the last 6 years. I camp in Pod 1. But now that I think about it. I could probably camp in VIP if I treated it like Tent only. Mother fucker I'm trying it this year. Maybe. On Thursday, I work in the VIP Tent (hopefully new barn) and help count inventory when the free beer is over.
This may be the year I check it out. I almost posted last night it came out this time last year. Then I remembered you can look at the lineup and figure out who is going to play there anyways.
So we will get the late night show announcement in about a month. Then the schedule in mid April. I've going back through the lineup trying to find something I've missed or giving artists another chance. The National doesn't do it for me. Put them up there with Bon Iver and Future Islands.
The Record Company - can't wait Rival Sons - probably the most listened All Them Witches - holy shit if they get 75 mins late Thursday night The Nude Party - close second listened to Kikagaku Moyo Two Feet - probably becoming my #1 show on Sunday Kacey Musgraves - always liked her but she isn't on the same level for me as Margo Price. Nevertheless, still amazing. Saw some of her set in 2015. I'm going to see her at the Ryman this Friday night with the BFF. Tier 2 Catfish and the Bottlemen - need to give their albums a true listen instead of the top songs from Spotify Shovels and Rope - really like "I Know" . Hoping they are the first show at the What on Saturday so I can watch them during my shift. Trampled by Turtles Gojira - need to dive deeper in the catalog. Bands like The Avett Brothers, The Lumineers, Brandi Carlile, and John Prine are in a tier where I know I like but haven't really dove in right now. I'm trying to branch out on GRiZ and Odesza without forcing it on myself. Then there are several bands that have singles I like but overall haven't moved the needle to make me move them up my charts. Bishop Briggs - River K. Flay - Blood in the Cut Parquet Courts - Wide Awake Crooked Colours - Flow *Opinions subject to change when the schedule is released
Is there a Publix parking lot near where we can settle this? Gramatik is a good show. RL Grime will provide ~1000 drops in a one hour show. His show a few years back was a lot of fun and very energetic. Idk the others
If you are on any sort of performance enhancing substance and miss RL Grime, you’re making a mistake. His late night show in 2016 is hands down the rowdiest crowd I’ve ever seen.
It was only rivaled by Danny Brown's sets. That show was a lot of fun and I wasn't even on anything but exhaustion
I agree on all them witches... never really listened to them but I have enjoyed their addition to my Spotify
We asked and they finally listened!!!! Bonnaroo Will Host First-Ever Pride Parade With Circus & Drag Queen Performances
Pretty much everyone you listed. I made a playlist with every band/act that are rock/indie/country/metal etc etc that I mainly listen to. I also broke the whole lineup down by each day and listen to everything to get a taste of the electronic stuff.
Well, this is not ideal. I got a text from my boss. Bonnaroo/Spectrum sent her the email. There is a new policy this year. No camping spots given to volunteers. Meaning I am going to have to do what I did in 2015. Park on the outside, shuttle in, and find a random place to pitch a tent or something. Every morning get up, shuttle out, drive to the high school, and get my daily wristband. Rinse and repeat.
