Once they do it’ll be a nice surprise every now and then to look over and see it being used. Makes my day
We’ve got two. One is 5 yrs old and mostly feral, loves attention but snaps and bites without warning. The other is almost 2 and lives for food. Will sit, shake, lay down, and roll over if you’ve got a single piece of kibble. Anyone ever use a cat-in-the-bag? These things are lifesavers if you ever have to travel with them.
Last night Fido killed two rats and proudly brought them inside. He brought the first one in and played with the corpse in the kitchen until the dogs alerted me to the activity. I disposed of it, so he went out and got himself another one.
You can’t help but wanna cuddle that furball. That’s where all the bites come from. Correct. Pretty sure she’s planning our demise 23/24 hrs of the day.
The key is to withdraw the petting right before the biting commences. I’m an expert at anticipating this
So I was stretching this morning and one of them figured it out! Only took like two weeks. But she was enjoying it and it did make me smile.
Ratkiller struck again last night, left his offering on the throwrug at the kitchen sink. The carcass blended in with the rug pattern, so the wife didn't see it until she stepped on it this morning. With bare feet.
Did you have to go through the 24 hours or whatever of not feeding your cat? If so, good luck trying to keep your cat away from eating anything possible post-surgery.
Just got off the phone with the vet. Surgery went well and he’s in recovery. Going to pick him up around 5. To add insult to injury, he’ll have to wear the cone of shame while his sutures do their job. Poor guy.
Once he’s feeling better, he will get plenty of his favorite treats, which are deli turkey and sour cream.
Yeah our poor kitty had to have several teeth pulled months ago and she didn't want to eat and acted funny for about 36 hours. Poor kitty, anesthesia can be tough on them sometimes.
Interesting. Didn't have to do any of that. My cat was actually pretty stoked after anesthesia and such wore off.
But its amazing how well they do once you get the bad teeth out of there tbqh. Sometimes its like a whole different cat.
Its only to prevent him from scratching at his face to get his sutures out. Luckily dental sutures are dissolvable for the most part.
Piper and Olenna had their one year vet appointment last week. Piper is 12 lbs, Olenna 11. They had a numbering system to describe their size. On a 1-9 scale, Piper is a 7, and Olenna is a 6. They recommended a wet food diet for Piper. I guess calling a cat a 7 instead of obsese is a smart way to do it. Pipes in the back, Olenna in the front
the only thing she loves more than diving into a pile of laundry is getting right in the middle of the bed when it's being made when we change the sheets. Each layer takes like 10 minutes because she gets in the middle of the bed until we put the sheet over her and tuck it in, then she wants to run around under the sheets and be played with. Eventually she gets out from under it and waits for the next layer...
My cat begs for wet food and then usually just licks up the juices and leaves the actual food. It's pretty annoying.
Miller has been on a wet food diet most of his life after a UTI back in like 2006. At first it was prescription food but moved to fancy feast and whatever else I randomly get sometimes. wet food is better for them anyway because it ensures good water intake. Still give him a bowl of dry food for weekends away and he loves it like it's a treat.
My Norwegian forest cat will only lick the gravy. Luckily the neighborhood stray cats will eat the leftovers.
I’ve had a lot of cats in my life. Most of em will disappear under beds or somewhere for hours at a time, not to be seen. Ramsey is totally different. He’s pretty much in one of 3 places if he’s not running around. And if we’re home and I don’t see him for 15 minutes I always think “where’s the cat?” Because if he isn’t under the dining room table, or on one of two chairs, it’s weird to not see him. Which usually means he is either shut in a cabinet or a room we don’t use regularly. So it becomes an Easter egg hunt to figure out which door he snuck in. Tonight, it was the back bedroom that we never use. He’s never in there, but decided to hang out in there for some reason and he got shut in. Goofy fucker.
If we (my wife) leave a clothing drawer open, even slightly, Angora will find a way in and make herself a bed. We’ve “lost” her twice, and each time she was in a drawer that got closed not realizing she was in there. She also got stuck behind the oven on back to back nights.
Pancho is doing great btw. Haven’t seen this much energy out of him in months. He’s doing a great job with his meds and already chowing down when we offer food. Feel bad we didn’t do the surgery sooner, but we needed to save up a bit and Feb/Oct are dental months at our clinic with 20% off, so we really just tried to manage it as long as possible.
Same. My cat will climb under sheets and make a little "fort" for herself. Burrow under the bed sheets and blankets on the sofas and whatnot. Does this every day at one point or another. We have to be careful not to sit on her, because you'll push on a lump that looks like a pillow and you'll get a loud "MMMMMMMMM" sound.
