I will safely say it's been one of our less great defensive efforts on record. Both completely preventable goals.
can't disagree with this. Davies isn't creative enough in this system either - at least in my opinion
I thought Toby and Sanchez put in the best performances of the night, Davies and Trips really let them down obviously, but everyone else was also awful. Eriksen looks like he's completely done with this team
Toby had some effortless (in a good way) clearances and toe pokes that stopped serious Chelsea threats. Yet he got completely bamboozled by Pedro on his goal and I'm trying not to just judge him on my lofty expectations for him. Davies not being in the right place certainly forced him wider than he prefers.
We use to have two of the best fb's in the league. Now we have Rose who's getting better but still isn't close to as good as he use to be and three other trash fb's. That position needs some serious upgrading but that would require us to actually buy someone. So I'm not holding my breath.
I haven't given up on Trippier or davies yet. I know some of you guys are down on them, but I think some of the criticism is harsh, and in Trippier's case do we really know how much injuries have impacted his performance?
Trippier is garbage in anything other than a 3 man back line, and even then he’s still a one trick pony. His performances this year are wholly indefensible.
Certainly an unorthodox summoning material but if you've been particularly liquid lately, you can take excess calcium to firm that up.
On a positive note... Son wins PL Player of the Year. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ng-min-wins-prize-London-Football-Awards.html
4-4-2 diamond though 4-3-3 wouldn’t surprise me either. Don’t think we’ll see a 3 man backline. Lloris; Rose, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Aurier; Wanyama, Lamela, Sissoko, Eriksen; Kane, Son Edit: I think it’ll be 4-3-3. Shift Lamela up top.
Two things killing us offensively in this game. We can’t get shots in great positions and our first touches.
With >65% possession, we have one shot and it was off target. We're trying to walk it in, against the team known for trying to walk it in. Rip the shot!
Oh yeah, well if we knew that our midfield was paper thin, then why didn't we buy any players during either of the last two transfer windows? Checkmate.
He had a pretty solid first half, and I've been very very critical of him this season. That cross was total shite though.
How many fouls does Xhaka get before accumulation forces Taylor to pull a card or admit that he forgot them somewhere?
