The Dead suicide and the murder scenes are pretty graphic. There were also more sex scenes than I would have ever imagined. My sister in laws are still in high school, one is a senior and the other is a sophomore and I winced about what they were seeing on more than one occasion. With that being said, they took it in stride and said they liked it. My wife said "I'm sure they have seen worse" and it's probably true.
Also forgot to add: my wife and her sisters had no idea what really happened, so the ending to them was WILD
The Traveler is good in case you haven't listened to the entire album. I d/l it about a week ago but only got around to listening to it today. Had I known it was gonna rule my face I wouldn't have waited so long. Just started new Rotting Christ, not sure how much I'm going to like it, I'm fond of the old stuff and honestly haven't paid attention to them the past couple decades.
Yeah not a fan. Their songs are slow, boring and kind of monotone. I need to check out this Traveler. I haven’t had a chance yet.
My heavy bias & hatred will not allow me to enjoy Deafheaven. Never heard Vimur before, sounds quite good. Currently enjoying the shit out of new Electrocution. They've added a little tech in their sound.
It's more black metal-ish than usual but I don't see it as that big of a departure the part about 2 minutes in is tight though
is Helms Alee acceptable in here? came across a single from their upcoming album and I'm enjoying digging into their previous stuff
"Agalloch members condemn John Haughm; Pillorian bandmates quit after anti-Semitic remark" Apparently he called facebook jewbook. I normally wouldn't pass on a chance to shit on John but at the same time I'm amazed at how sensitive the last two generations are.
Said friend that called me that went to the Morbid Angel/Cannibal Corpse on Monday. I've seen Cannibal a couple times now, they put on a good show. Never seen Morbid Angel, opted to sit this one out after googling the set list they played a few days earlier. I get you have a fucking album you're trying to promote, but you know damn well people want to hear the classics. PS - Covenant over Altars, Altars over Blessed.
You guys can fuck right off, thank you very much. They are one of my favorite bands. Their style took a symphonic/theatric turn 3-4 albums back, one of many style changes throughout their career. Their back catalog is untouchable. No matter what kind of extreme metal you like, you'll find something you like in their discography. Here's how I'd rank their records. 1. Triarchy of the Lost Lovers (black metal), 1996 2. Theogonia (melodic black metal), 2007 3. Non Serviam (black metal), 1994 4. Thy Mighty Contract (black metal), 1993 5. A Dead Poem (gothic/black metal), 1997 7. Aealo (melodic death/black metal), 2010 6. Khronos (gothic/black metal), 2000 8. Sleep of the Angels (melodic death/black metal), 1999 9. Sanctus Diavolos (melodic death/black metal), 2004 10. Rituals (symphonic death/black metal), 2016 11. Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού (symphonic death/black metal), 2013 12. Genesis (gothic/black metal) , 2002 I still haven't decided what I think about The Heretics from this year. It seems less inspired so far.
I didn’t mean to bring your name up in a different thread to be weird.. I just did it because I think you’re my friend. I don’t even know what post you’re talking about. I won’t do it again. I’m really sorry.
Here's what I've been spinning: Drudkh - Autumn in Sepia (new single) Ordos - The End (vitriolic Swedish stoner doom) Mastodon - Empire of Sand Emperor - Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk Bloodbath - Nightmares Made Flesh
Ive mostly been listening to bands that will be playing at shows im going to attend this year. Aborted, Dark Tranquility, Vale of Pnath, Benighted, Belphegor, Cryptopsy, Archspire. Also anything involving stevie boiser Plus my usual black fast, vektor, origin, defeated sanity, etc rotation Also some black metal that burnttatertot would tell me isnt black metal
I don't want to send you into an emotional tailspin Joe, but that Vimur is better than Vanum. I like both, wouldn't be surprised if both end up on my end of year list, but Vimur is more my style. Vimur will always have a, "Courtesy of Joe_Pesci" stamp on it. I'm not use to other people finding me bands I enjoy so it's easy to remember. Slugdge will forever be © Odin.
The lead singer of The Prodigy killed himself today. Hadn't thought about them in forever but was semi-excited to see them open for Tool (ever heard of 'em) in May.
