Really my only complaint is that the footstep sound is mediocre at best. Not as bad as CoD, but still not good. I know that programming good 3D sound that's fast is a challenge
One of the more insidious parts about BR is the amount of time you have to play in order to actually fight other people It reminds me of football on tv in that way
learning more as i die a bunch. it seems like you need roughly 2 sniper rifles at the end of the game most of the time and not the bitchass scout
Also Odin is right. We don't even communicate it anymore other than a "yep" or "that sounds like something." As soon as there's gunfire, it's a sprint to find it. Give me all the action
This actually happened: We were just running around. Suddenly i heard gunfire. "We need to hurry over there if we're going to finish off these teams and then get shot in the back." Sure enough, thats exactly what happened.
Hate that the last three squads frequently end up with the third team wiping both teams that start fighting. And I don't think snipers are ever worth carrying in this game, the TTK is too high and there is too much healing for long range battles to matter outside of specific circle locations. Plus the wingman works pretty well as a sniper in a pinch. (Not including the scout as a sniper, I think it is more viable for taking mid-range fights.)
Totally agree. TTK is insane but thats why i love the game. Heals are everywhere. Unless you can do work with a kraber youre just better off not engaging at long range.
I’ve had luck with snipers when my teammates engage but that’s about it. Also I think the longbow is the rarest non-gold gun.
Bangalore is my backup too. I like her because her abilities are pretty straight forward and don’t take much thinking to use effectively.
I'm slightly worse at this than I am PUBG. just dipped toes into these BR modes. terribly slow at looting / deciding what I want to pickup (albeit better in this because of the auto-equip for attachments) and the radar honestly confuses the fuck out of me. someone link me to noob tips I see friends playing and want to join
100% my thinking too. Play Lifeline because she has a small hitbox and abilities are non-combat. I just want to shoot. Bangalore as a backup because the passive is awesome and I still usually forget to smoke.
I really can’t find a character I want to main. Seem to go with Bloodhound most cause lifeline is always taken. Lots of love for Bangalore, but I’m not sure I’ve gotten more than a handful of hit markers, let alone kills, with her alt.
I’m the same way with these BR games. Played fortnite but could never build shit and I like this one way more than it. Blackout on BO4 is fun and a ton of nostalgia but I like the different characters with abilities on Apex. I usually just try and find a gun and go from there. If it’s a shotgun or pistol I’ll keep looking but after that I don’t look for any attachments.
the attachments are what make the gun's the best. but really, you just need to find ones that fit your gun and go by color. gold/purple/blue/white from best to worst (not many gold things)
Her Ult is pretty much just to keep a squad from being able to push you. Put it in between you and the enemy squad and it gives you that little extra time to heal, escape, or better your positioning. I'm at 950 or so kills with her and I bet less than 10 are from the Ult. I do have one kill with the smoke canister, though. That was confusing but satisfying You're doing yourself a disservice if you aren't looking for the best attachments for your gun, honestly.
TLAU looting fast is important. Prioritize finding body armor and a gun quickly. Any gun but the Mozambique. After that you can grab a backpack and start grabbing consumables. When you know you’re safe you can focus more on finding the right weapons and the attachments that go with them. I like to grab a shotgun and an automatic weapon or Wingman. I personally grab the Eva-8 until I find a peacekeeper to swap it out with. My other gun it’s either wingman, spitfire, r-301, or r-99. If you’re using an r-99 or r-301 finding an extended mag for light ammo is a must. With the peacekeeper a shotgun bolt is a must and the precision choke is ideal. Skull piercer on wingman makes it a beast. Spitfire is probably the easiest gun to pick up and use effectively because it has a 35 rd magazine without finding any extended mags. The barrel stabilizer and extended mags take it to another level, though. HTH.
TLAU you loot slowly because you havent played a ton of BR games. A friend of mine who has never playrd prior BRs has become CUtigers and my most common third. He was where you were when he started and after about 50 games or so I stopped even noticing his lack of experience. So just play and you'll get it.
My biggest problem with this game are the pacing issues. Sometimes I see round 2 just started and theres 12 squads left. Sometimes theres 5. We need more squads or larger squads.
This is my vote. I further think that (while I want more kills by my own hand) the storm needs to do more damage. The game never lasts long enough to whatever circle actually hurts enough to be a deterrent.
especially since lifeline is so prevalent, you can afford to run through the storm then use her heal.
The storm just isnt strong enough early game to force you towards the circle. Like Odin said, we recently spent the entire time in the 2nd storm (one of us had to go back and get our stuff, plus there were quite a few death boxes unlooted) and it wasnt a big deal at all.
