While I'm worried Fox will fuck it up (like where the hell is sister Lacey, that's not how Amy showed up), book 1 of The Passage might be my favorite book ever so I'm going to give it a chance.
Ugh, so conflicted. Love the books more than almost anything, but why, fucking why couldn't they have made this an HBO, or even FX series?!? I have no faith in Fox doing a good job, the subject matter is way too dark for a Big 4 network, they've changed so many things. Will still watch but fuck I don't feel good about it. Yeah I've gone from super super excited to meh the more I've read about it. No sign of Lacey in trailer or articles, just doesn't make sense to me to cut her out. Also doesn't make sense to change Amy's backstory on where she came from, but that doesn't affect rest of story like cutting Lacey. Emmanuelle Chriqui tho
Just saw the commercial premier for it. As mentioned above, I don't think fx is doing to the writers/budget to do the book justice. I hope it works but still skeptical.
did anyone watch last night? thought the premiere was so-so, but it was very tough to separate the tv show from the book. for example, no sister Lacey Antoinette Kudoto??? how does that work?
I watched. I thought it was good, but w low expectations. I put my thoughts in the book thread if you want to discuss.
I don’t understand why they changed Lacey’s story and she better not be dead Also I pronounced Lila’s name wrong when reading but guess that’s on me Like the sexy viral
Meh I’m pretty disappointed so far but I’ll still watch. Richards’ southern accent is so bad it’s funny. That’s the easiest accent to mimic but his is awful.
Enjoyed last episode a little more, but it was so lazy a rifle shot from 100 yards out blew out the power. Give the fucker a RPG or something
The dude that played the shooter is from my wife's hometown. Small town of 1800 people in Iowa. My wife had to do a double take as she looked up from playing on her phone and was like "holy shit, I went to high school with that kid". She had a similar reaction when she saw him in ballers. I knew he looked familiar.
The actress who plays Babcock has been reminding me of someone, but I couldnt place it. It's Emmy Rossum. I think it's the manerisms and speech pattern. Very similar to Fiona on Shameless. BTW this show is disappointing, but not awful. Which I guess is the best you can hope for on network TV
Babcock is sexy af Agree it's disappointing but also better than I expected. Really sucks Netflix, HBO, etc didn't pick it up. Fox made so many dumbass unnecessary changes. End of season one and nowhere close to first colony. If this doesn't get canceled (it will) the entire story might take 15 seasons.
No clue. Plan might just be to finish book 1 all along so that might be possible. If I wasn't a book fanboy I would have quit after first couple of episodes Wouldn't surprise me if it only made it 1 or 2 seasons though
Spoiler I think they skip going into the future. I think they are setting it up to happen fast and use the cast they have now in the colonies and hunting the 12. There’s no way they can follow the books and have it hold people’s attentions with all new casting. They’ll simply have the outbreak and everything seem like it happened in like a year and go from there.
Oh just a casual 97 year jump. I may have to turn to the books as i knew nothing about this story until i watched episode 1
The jump happens in the book too. Basically this season was the first 25% or so of the first book. Read the book it's great. They changed so much. Amy is a completely different. She's more quiet and sullen. Not spunky at all. Although I really like this actress.
Book 1 is one of the best books I've ever read, highly suggest. Entire series is great I made it 20 minutes into finale and turned it off. Spoiler: book shit Really pissed me off when they made Fanning look like a victim wasn't going to finish but here I am tonight about to power through
I already had low expectations and once I lowered them again, I liked the show for what it was. Mostly because it made me think about the books more for the first time in a while.
