These are discount basic economy fares and do not include early seat selection. Heads up, a checked bag booked seperately costs $92 each way, so we recommend upgrading your fare (around $35 each way) if you want a checked bag. A small carry-on is included, but the max weight is 17 pounds. Note: many dates have long daytime layovers in Lisbon or Porto on the outbound or return with plenty of time to leave the airport and explore. FYI if booking directly with TAP, you may be able to add a stopover in Portugal for a similar price. All prices are for roundtrip flights and in USD unless otherwise stated. helping some friends research a couple trips coming up, before hitting up my usual research purposes thought I woudl ask if you have a top restaurant things to do for: a) Vancouver #Vancouver Canucks b) Tokyo thanks
Vancouver - some of the best chinese food, and other Asian cuisines, in North America. So many good restaurants.
Richmond has some absolutely delicious all you can eat sushi after 10:00. Not sure if the place still does it, since that was back in my college years. Also, depending on length of stay, check out Victoria.
Hawaii is no where near as "tropical" as I assumed. ie, it's 80+ all year and warm waters. Today was the first "hot" day at 78 and sunny for most the morning
Drove to the top of Waimea Canyon, probably on just a touch too many edibles...scary on the way up... But that shit was impressive. Fucking water is so powerful. Going whale watching tomorrow.
Glad I only went for a day, tried to talk the wife out of it but she wanted to head down there. She didn't like it. Too crowded, not as pretty
I have 3 days in Waikiki after 7 in Maui. Am I making a booboo? We were looking for a little more liveliness on a weekend
Depends, I guess. I didnt like it, over commercialized and too big, avg crowded beaches... But if you're going for some nightlife then probably OK
There doesn't seem like nightlife much on the island. Maybe I'm not looking, but none on the north shore and haven't seen much on Kauai
The water so strong And yeah it’s 75 in the winter and 85 in the summer, 80 in spring and fall. That’s paradise weather imo but I’m biased.
Anywhere in the state I guess? Stay in Maui longer? Or just try it so I can see Pearl Harbor I guess. IDK
You can see everything needed in Waikiki in one day. Two at most. Three is overkill. Spend another day in Mau instead. I just went last thanksgiving and spent a week in Maui and a day trip to Honolulu. Glad I went and saw Pearl Harbor and Waikiki but Maui is way better.
Yeah, really the only thing Oahu has that other islands don't is Pearl Harbor. Waikiki, I suppose, but you can party anywhere. Hell, Kaanapali on Maui probably has a decent party scene, if you're into that. I go with my wife and kids, so we just get a couple big bottles of mai tai mix at the Kahului Costco and have our own quiet little beach soiree in Kahana
Was great, no complaints. As someone who has never flown long haul business I can't imagine it being much better. Meals were ok, the snacks were great. Cheese plate and dim sum you can order whenever are must gets. I'm 6'4" and got 5 hours of sleep or so, seat obviously designed for someone shorter but only hurt in lie flight mode
Wife told me to add the media selection is only ok, if you travel a lot load up your laptop with stuff as we've seen most everything they had.
Where Eagles Dare FriendsofJtyler @[other SA folks] Did yall get vaccines for South Africa? CDC recommends Hep A and Typhoid, but I got those in 2017 prior to India--google tells me I should be good. Not worrying about malaria vaccine.
Yeah I got something, what ever was recommended especially since we went on a safari. I went to the minute clinic in CVS and it was free
Anyone have recommendations for Bangkok? Not going until October but working on details now. Any places to definitely see, areas to visit or restaurant/bar to go to would be appreciated.
So since Im going to SA, Tanzania/Kenya we are in the same boat. If you got the Hep A shot in 2017 your totally fine Typhoid depends on the way you received it I think the shot form offers immunity for 2-3 years where as the oral pill is 5 years.
