11 goals in 14 clasicos for Luis “la rata” Suarez and 5 this season alone. Heretics and blasphemers be damned.
Arthur plays like he’s 28 not 22. What a difference he makes to our midfield. Top top stuff all around.
Will have to watch out for these scumbags looking to draw blood and end someone’s career as they brace and resign themselves to another humiliation at Camp Beu.
Took me a while to come around on Vidal, but I love him now. The massive energy boost he brings into the last 20-30 minutes is so great.
He won more tackles in like 20 minutes than everyone else did in the pitch for a full 90 it felt like lol. And was actually sharp on the ball which was a nice bonus both in tight spaces and servicing with long balls.
Had shit to attend to immediately following the game, so didn’t have time to follow up. Pique looked amazing. He’d been looking like he wears cement cleats for over a year now. Can we just blare recordings of Madridistas whistling every time he touches the ball at the Camp Nou? Sergi is such an amazing tool to have. Fucking Swiss Army knife. When Semedo was getting absused on Wednesday I was sure that Sergi wouldn’t have the kind of pace required to hang with Vinicius, but his marking was exceptional and he never overcommitted on anything. Moving forward, I’d like to see Dembele get pushed over to the right and return to Messi linking up with Alba more. Give both Dembele and Alba their own wings to operate on. Valverde has made the odd decision to bring on Vidal when we are chasing a goal a few times this year. To his credit, he wasn’t a hinderance (and was actually quite crisp with passes) in midfield flow today. However, he doesn’t have the sort of creativity we need in goal chasing scenarios. Dude can be a legendary closer when protecting a lead, though, and will be an amazing asset for European play. Dude is his very own wrecking crew. Suárez’s hold up play was quite nice. Coutinho is so fucking frustrating to watch right now. No idea how to solve that mess. It’s insane to see how much influence Arthur has on the midfield.
I have to say, watching Vidal come on protecting a lead and just seeing him run around everywhere winning balls back and kicking the shit out of people is highly satisfying.
Dembélé links up so well with Semedo. We definitely get the most out of Semedo’s offensive capabilities with Dembélé on the right.
Vidal really starting to mesh in the midfield. Who, if anyone, do we offload from the midfield in the summer once De Jong arrives? Would hate to lose Rakitic, but the time seems right to cash in on him. This is the most depth we’ve had in quite some time. Only thing missing really is a backup striker. Would be nice to have an out and out Alba backup, but Sergi can handle spot duty there.
Controversial opinion: Busi is the one who has the most to worry with De Jong’s arrival. Also, does the club do the right thing and offload Coutinho this summer? We’ll lose money but the price we’ll still fetch for Coutinho absolutely can help us buy a world class striker.
It’s not controversial. De Jong is his long term replacement. But they’re not going to part with the hometown boy.
