Murray is good for the north-south running. That’s what we missed last year in the first four games without Ingram. We are just replacing him at a cheaper price. I’m fine with Murray for what they’ll use him for. Keep Kamara on the outside carries/tosses and catches.
I guess you know what your getting with a guy like Murray but could we not just draft a late round downhill guy for pennies? Just draft the new 215 lb Kamara, easy as that.
dont like the price paid but we dont have any picks really, so even though its a decent draft for mid round rb's i get the move. Just think the deal is too expensive and probably a year too long
The cap is getting so high that even guys like Banjo, Josh Hill, and Craig Robertson are getting 2.5/3m per year - so 4 million for a # 2 RB isn't thatttt bad. We also have Dwayne Washington under contract and he looked pretty good in the few games he saw some carries. We'll be alright - still need to address someone to catch the ball beside Thomas, a backup interior OL, and a pass rusher.
ow we need plenty. I think we could do for another corner to replace PJ Williams. I think the role needed for Murray is not a big one and I think it again shows why drafting ingram was silly. I dont actually mind 4mln for a #2 back but that back should then be better than murray
that seems quite likely to me. I loved the hard work mike bell did, LOVED me some pierre thomas and i think any fanbase has appreciation of the hard work a between the tackles back does
What the fuck happened with Ingram - did his agent overplay his hand? The rumors yesterday were he was getting 7-8 / yr from Baltimore, and he ended up signing a 3/15 - and we offered 4.5/yr for 4 years. I can't imagine if we were only off by half a million and we were offering an extra year they couldn't have come to an agreement. Did the agent try to play the Saints by pushing the higher number for Baltimore and the Saints said whelp ok we'll sign this guy instead, and Ingram kind of got fucked by that deal.
Yea I’m pretty pissed after seeing Ingram’s deal with the Ravens. I generally discount locker room ‘culture’ and other non-quantifiable ‘intangibles,’ but he was a great fit here. Going to miss the fuck out of Ingram and Kamara’s joint interviews.
Folks are saying Ingram’s agents overplayed their hands. I’ll believe it I guess until I see otherwise. For the saints, at this point we have done nothing to improve our roster through free agency. We can’t really hope for short term improvement through this years draft due to our limited picks. Our cap space doesn’t help the situation so we really have no choice but to wait until the free agency dust settles and find some value in players at bargain prices
Would fucking love some Ziggy Ansah Not really worried at all about the offense, we'll get another WR or TE somewhere. Brees can make average TEs and WRs look pretty damn good
Brees deal restructured for 11M in cap space, team to explode in 2020. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/03/14/new-orleans-saints-drew-brees-contract-restructure
We signed DT Malcom Brown 3/15 - that's a good signing. DT was going to be thin with Rankins most likely out for the first half of the season.
If Bridgwater leaves, could we bring in Bortles in as a back up? A year behind Brees and playing for SP may make him viable in 2020. Maybe that’s crazy talk though
Unger retiring is a shot in the gut. On the bright side we currently have about 21.3m in cap space. Projected to use about 3.5m on draft picks. We need a center and it would be sweet if we could get suh.
He was really good in 2017, and really bad in 2018 from what I’ve read... but the entire OL of the Vikings was ass so maybe there’s a reason for his struggles.
I like that he can play G also- gives flexibility if we need to shuffle around and slide Clapp/Tom I’m at C
Well signing Easton solidifies the line now, even with Unger retiring. Will Clapp and Cameron Tom will be good too. No more Bushrod but that’s ok — young line.
Need some help on D, TE and another WR Feel like we have shit the bed unless I overlooked a signing. Tyreek Hill May be available
We signed DE/DT Mario Edards 2 yrs for 5 DT Malcom Brown 3 for 15 C/G Nick Easton 4 for 24 RB Latavius 4 for 14 Also brought back Big Nutz Lutz and Teddy B - so I'm happy with those I mean that's pretty good, need to still get TE & WR I don't think I've seen anything but I have to assume we're going to either cut or rework Cam Meredith's number - he's at 6.5 against the cap right now.
I saw a mock that had us taking Sternberger in the 2nd round. Not real excited about that. I can' t believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather have Irv Smith.
Yeah I really like we addressed the interior defensive line to help out Rankins. Not sure when he will be healthy. Also — we still need an edge rusher. I thought Ziggy would have been the guy but I guess not. I want us to draft a running back. I don’t see Murray lasting all four seasons.
I dont think ive ever been as open to draft vitually everything as I currently am. I can see points for pretty much everything
Would be big. Think we have to go OL or WR with the 2nd rounder, unless there's someone the just really love at another spot.
