Zidane actually returning? A LOT of places reporting that he's returning today/tomorrow and will be given full squad control
God tier moves from Zizou. Probably doubled his last pay check, gets 3 months to rebuild the team with no pressure, gets a huge check book in the summer, all after taking a 9 month vacation and letting two other managers who had stars in their eyes eat all the shit that had piled up at the club.
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT | 2019-03-11 The Real Madrid board of directors, which met today, Monday 11 March 2019, has decided to terminate Santiago Solari's contract as first-team coach, whilst Real Madrid have offered him the opportunity to remain at the club. Real Madrid wish to thank Solari for his work, commitment and the loyalty that he has always displayed towards this club, which is his home. The board of directors also agreed on the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as head coach of Real Madrid with immediate effect for the remainder of the season and the next three campaigns, until 30 June 2022. The Real Madrid president will address the media alongside Zinedine Zidane at 8pm (CET) tonight in the Santiago Bernabéu media room.
So did he leave after Ronaldo to Juve was done? Did he tell them hey I need more than a Vinicious to replace Crissy and was told no so he bounced?
The Sun’s predicted XI for ‘20 is quite cute De Gea; Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Varane, Reguilón; Pogba, Kante, Eriksen; Neymar, Mbappé and Hazard.
Chile and I were just laughing at that and figured that it'd be close to €1.1B (or more) to get that done.
de Gea still hasn't signed an extension and he expires after next year, right? If so, probably not getting more than ~50 for him, I'd think. Maybe 70?
Has been rumored for a while but it sounds like it'll be made official shortly. xec how should we feel about this? He's being brought in to play as a CB correct?
That’s his forte. He is right footed and can play RB if needed. He’s an up and coming star imo. If RM is in need of a young quality CB, then this is an excellent move. He can score too. He got called up to the Brazilian senior team last year and, I believe, played in a game. I hate to see Porto lose him tbh. But that’s their business model: Identify and obtain future stars, mentor and develop them, then sell them for a huge profit.
It's official, 6 year deal. He's a year or two older than Vallejo but far more developed, hopefully he becomes what they hoped JV would be.
Hahahahaha I meant it will be a shitshow, but I can see how there was A LOT of room from one to the other
Nice to see this version of Marcelo back. Bale has been outstanding today and should probably have at least 1 more.
Nothing definitive. Was supposedly on the shortlist of summer targets but all indications are that Zidane will have the final say on transfers. My guess is that with Hazard likely to join and Zidane rating Isco & Asensio that he's likely a long shot. If either of those two were to leave he might be be more of a target but its sounding like Kante and Pogba are the midfielders at the top of his wishlist. A replacement for Bale and a #9 are the top priorities for the summer so I wouldn't worry about Real calling unless several guys are moved.
I don't see them spending that type of money on him. If they're breaking the bank it's for Mbappe (or to a lesser degree Pogba)
