Kenny is a perfect example of the type of guys we hate to lose to UNC because they’re top recruits for us and UNC is like “I guess we have a spot for this guy”
Kenny's our second highest ranked starter and he'd be the lowest ranked guy of your starting 5 The reason we have this kind of top notch research is because our board currently has a thread titled "Poor, Scrappy No-Talent Virginia" where they talk about how your starting 5 was ranked significantly higher than ours across the board. It gets tough being the little guy sometimes.
Call me next time we win a head to head recruiting battle against you guys. And there’s no way Kenny Williams is ranked lower than Jack Salt and Kihei Clark
hey, Zion hasn't missed a FG yet so I have a great idea: let's just chuck up shitty 3s and not run our offense through the best player on the court.
GT athletics continue to impress Georgia Tech has been served by the NCAA with a notice of allegations regarding alleged recruiting violations committed by former assistant basketball coach Darryl LaBarrie and Ron Bell, the former friend of coach Josh Pastner. The NCAA’s enforcement staff found two of the three allegations to constitute severe breaches of conduct (Level I violations), which are the highest level of violations in the NCAA’s structure.
Our recruiting rankings the past 4 years on 247 have been 63, 98, 7, and 62. Our 2016 class is an outlier which is where the “starting 5” metric comes from so yeah sure this is Bennett’s most talented team which is why we’ll make it to at least the round of 32 before disappointing in the tourney.
without doing any fact checking here's where we stand (remember recruiting rankings here) White 25 Kenny 96 Brooks 131 Maye 155 Johnson 224 Diakite 32 Kyle Guy 37 Jerome 44 Huff 57 Hunter 91 also I really didn't mean to make this a real thing
I would assume the cheating was seen as the upside for him, but he was butt in Memphis where I’m sure there was a similarly laissez faire approach to compliance.
GT is broke af thanks to Paul Hewitt and I assume Pastner knew they were the only P5 job he could get so he took a discount* *i have no idea what he’s paid
I hesitate to ask but uh, is Duke fucked next year when those three leave? Like they've been struggling just missing Zion (and even with him) but do they actually have talent that's being covered up by those three or are they boned, because it kinda looks like they're boned.
No, just one plus two top 30 guys. Wouldn’t say they’re fucked but don’t think they’ll be in national or even conference contention.
Going to be a big talent vacuum in the ACC this year. Duke loses their guys, UNC graduates Johnson, May, Williams, and probably lose Coby and maybe Little. UVA will lose some seniors and Hunter. I’m not sure about FSU, VT, and Louisville, but next year feels like it’ll be wide open.
we lose a lot, too. there's a surprising amount of optimism about retaining Buzz but he's from Texas and most everyone has been calling this day essentially since he stepped on campus. if he goes we'll go back to the cellar unless we get another good hire (possible for sure).
nd returns everyone (from the worst team in the ACC) which is possibly good, possibly bad. and we add no one (as of today) which is also bad
I’m gonna be honest I hope Zion scores 1000 today I don’t care how annoying Bilas and ESPN are about it
Becoming clear from most sources that Ty Jerome is gone, gone, gone. UVA is looking at a down year next year as well.
Kabengele isn’t leaving. He is a second round pick at best this year. Next year there is no one to take up a lot of minutes from him. He should get 30 minutes a game next season. He’s making a mistake if he leaves.
Kabengele has some more development to do also. It’s questionable whether or not he’ll get it in Tallahassee though, so I can understand that angle. I’m not sure he will ever be a “lottery pick” but He’s definitely been fun to watch.
I turned on their game mid 1st last night right as Zion had that steal and alley oop and you’d of thought peak Angelina Jolie had those lips shaft deep on Bilas. Made it about 3 more minutes of game time before I had to turn it off. I used to like him but he’s turned into such a fan boy and gives about half the analysis he did a few years ago. It’s awful.
His athletic limitations mean he’ll never be a lottery pick. He’s currently projected at the late first round, which is pretty much his ceiling, so no reason to stay.
