Yeah I think one day I’ll just crawl down the wormhole on reddit to get an overview. I follow as much as I can but like Destiny there’s just a ton of lore.
I still can’t get the revive freelancers nobody dies in my random parties and the npc’s will kill everything in freeplay.
They keep accidentally buffing it for short periods of time and people love it then it gets nerfed back down and people lose their mind. Think I'm done with the game. For now anyway.
Woo buddy, I went and looked at the anthem reddit. You want to know real pain try and remember when Destiny 1 came out and you had to go to Mars to harvest materials and basically run around just looking at every single rock hoping it was something. So many hours. And using an app to try and find public events.
I guess I’m just an idiot and don’t notice any of that stuff. It all seems the same to me and the only thing I noticed was how you can fire up the expedition when you get a contract now without heading to your javelin. This could have always been a thing and I just suck and never realized it.
I just need someone to die 3 times for me to revive them. but right now thats way to hard to ask for or even get in my normal game play
Switch to hard mode? I switched to easy mode and used an interceptor in order to get my multi kills for a task. Hell, I’ll go just go get wrecked and let you revive me if you need it.
I’m super good at dying. Probably the best ever. I’ll be in the middle of a mission or stronghold and have to piss or do something and I just set my remote down and walk away.
Still playing this game despite the negative reviews. It’s enjoyable, but holy shit can you wreck shop with a Storm. Haven’t really leveled up any other javelins but the Storm and just destroy some stuff without firing a single shot. I do see that Colossus get the most xp points though.
Finally had time to play again 2 days ago and the revives with a pub who sucked some major ass. Dude was just sacrificing himself continuously it seemed like.
https://kotaku.com/how-biowares-anthem-went-wrong-1833731964/amp For anyone curious how it went so horribly wrong.
Came here to post the article. No hyperbole the best piece of gaming journalism I’ve read in a long time.
That guy is the best in the business. After reading it I feel really bad for all of the rank and file people at Bioware. Sounds like an awful work environment.
I still play the shit outta this game. Got some rounds in earlier. Wish they would have strict storyline missions though.
I like it as a change of pace, and something to play when nobody else is on to play Division or whatever else.
I haven't touched it in a month. Gameplay is fun on lower levels but is a slog on grandmaster 2 and 3.
Not finished with it yet. What a great article, though. Some of the things going on at Bioware are just mindblowing
Didn't they split the team between ME:A and Anthem? Then cut a lot of the ME team to go work on Anthem? So, instead of 1 great game, they made 2 shitty ones. Both I think are really fun to play, but both are obviously seriously flawed.
The crazy thing was they weren't sure if the game was repetitive or if the loot felt rewarding because they literally couldn't play the game to know.
Developers saying they have no clue how the game will play after 40, 60, or 80 hours is insane...especially for a game designed for you to play that long
I'd have to go back and read it for the specific timeline, but I know they pulled quite a bit from the anthem side when they realized they needed to pull their "bioware magic." It's funny that one of their main goals was to make the characters unmemeable like they were in andromeda, but this phrase bioware magic is probably going to spawn memes for a long long time.
But according to the original pitch I don't think. It wasnt until those final 18 months that the game became a looter shooter. Its really incredible the game is playable at all and I think speaks to the level of talent they have there. Too bad it's being squandered away.
My list is getting pretty small. Off the top of my head I've got Naughty Dog, CDPR, Sony Santa Monica (now that Cory is back), and Rockstar (single player). There are others that make quality games but I think that's it for devs I trust 100% to deliver a game I know I will love.
Guerilla and Insomniac have both jumped into that list for me. Not just because they released great games but because of how polished they were. Spiderman and HZD had some of the smoothest most seamless gameplay of any of the games released to date. I wasn't really a fan of Killzone because I thought the market was over saturated with generic FPS but it still looked and played pretty smooth from what little I tried. Ratchet and Clank was also really fun and had no issues. So both are well on their way to to being in that top tier. It takes a while to build that trust and so very easy to lose it(Bethesda/Bioware looking at you.) I like From Software too but their formula is getting pretty stale. Haven't tried Sekiro though.
They are part of my B team but they've released some games I really didn't care for as recently as their previous game before HZD and Spider-Man. I'm really excited to see what Guerilla does next though.
KZ2 is probably my favorite multiplayer shooter of all time. Try sekiro. I don't agree about the formula getting stale, but I can understand that feeling. This game is different enough to make you happy, I would think. I just enjoy the feels you get when you are at wits end with a boss, and then finally beat it. Not many games give you that feeling outside of from games. Nioh is one, but that's a Souls like game too
You're not lying. Seriously probably the most disappointing thing ever for me. Army of two is up there for disappointing releases, as well. I was pretty pumped for it after reading all kinds of cool things about it.
Its sad to see one of my favorite developers go out like this but they are obviously a shell of what they used to be.
I’m guessing they just shut this game down. Tried the past few days to play and just get error message that the servers are down.
I think it's still up but the servers are total shit. I think if they were to shut the servers down entirely they would get major backlash.
I tried matchmaking a mission and got stuck by myself. The "freeplay" area is garbage. There's no population so good luck getting help with World Events. I really only play it as a change of pace game, when I'm bored, and only play a couple missions at a time. A really disappointing game. Bioware is done. And EA is going to keep earning worst gaming company every year.
