I went last year after usually doing the second weekend of the tourney, never again. Not just lines, you can't hang out anywhere without paying for an all day thing. I like to just roam around and every place was "booked". Betting lines Friday morning were about an hour long at Planet Hollywood.
Unless you can climb the socio-economic ladder it’s not going to change for you. As soon as March Madness ends they begin analyzing the numbers and begin planning for the next one. They set rates as high as they can. It’s simple supply and demand economics. There hasn’t been a significant property addition to The Strip since Aria in 2009. That’s 10 years. Concurrently there has been a climb in wealthy people world-wide, and an increase in wealthy people world wide who like to go to Vegas. From my observation each year sees an incremental exclusion of the population from being able to visit the Vegas Strip, especially during the big event periods. Unless more properties are brought into the market, this trend will continue.
Agree, but depends on if you're just hitting up the typical strip spots. If you've never done opening round, yea it's fun. But otherwise venture off the beaten path, you'll be fine. End of the day all you're wanting to do is watch games and lord willing come out on top. Slightly less shitty when you have primo seats and then your lock ends up losing with a back door cover in last seconds despite covering by double digits first half. And then you're out of cash but still have two days left. Never been there. Heard about it. Vegas, baby.
A few years ago I posted up at aliante. I did a mix of lounge chairs and horse booths depending on my mood and what was going on. It’s no strip property, but it’s nice, not very busy, and really easy. Then you can head back and do whatever later.
Our flights from KC and back were SWA Max 8 so we got to change our flights for free. Went from Tue morning-Fri night to Mon night -Sat morning Edit: changing is already free, but we didn’t have to pay any fare difference
The “locals” resorts are great. But most visitors want the glitz of the Strip and Downtown. A young visitor spending time at the other resorts seems kind of weird tbh.
Got that "ready for your stay" email from Cosmo for this week just as the draw finished. Goddamn is it gonna be a great week.
Gonna be there. I'm cheap as fuck so its Excalibur for me. Will likely post up at the Luxor book. Going to see Aziz Ansari at Caesars Saturday night.
He's an equal opportunity asshole. Rich, poor, white, black, every religion , etc. All humans are fair game.
Yes exactly I have the pleasure of spending a full week at that shit hole every year thanks to my job.
It's cheap and it's dated in spots, but fuck it, it's still the Strip and you're still in Vegas. Hell, even Excalibur sounds pretty awesome right about now.
No. Absinthe is fucking awesome. Now, you can 100% be shamed if you're at the table up front, so do it.
