"You also hold the record for most attempted free throws with none made in a game" "None made? That's not true" "11" "Whatchu mean? I went zero for 11?" "Yeah, December 8th, 2000" "Oh, the same year I won a championship?"
I feel like Da Bomb should be permanently reserved for the penultimate sauce, right before Last Dab. Seems like that claims the most victims.
There is a major jump from the 7th to 8th sauce that I feel like no matter which sauce is there, it's going to crush people. I could be wrong though.
Da Bomb is the Malort's of hot sauces. It's not the strongest thing in the world, but the taste is as repulsive as it gets.
I feel like we have to address the elephant in the room...Shaq bitched out. Weak. That said, the Shaq sauce wing was hilarious and probably disgusting.
I've watched a lot of episodes of Hot Ones with guests I knew nothing about. Sometimes the interview leads me to looking into the guest's work and I find something new that I enjoy.
This show started out as me watching famous people sweating out spicy wings but that's become almost secondary now to the interview, Sean is legit one of the best interviewers I've ever seen and either he and/or their research department doesn't get paid nearly enough for the research into their guests' backgrounds and how in depth their questions are.
I just love how someone is in obvious pain and can barely speak and he's asking a serious question about their past.
Said something similar to a friend the other day. The Shaq episode was a legitimately good interview on top of the usual hilarity.
The interview is the best part for me, at least the torture of it by the last few wings. Sean while he hides it better is clearly effed up by those wings too, but he jumps right into the questions and always pisses these celebs off that don't know wtf to do with themselves at that point. They're so miserable, and this dude is straight trying to get answers haha, it's the best.
Sean and Chris (the co-creator/producer) do tons of research before an interview and it's quite evident. Personally, I think the reason the interviews go so well are a combination of these factors: 1) high quality, in-depth research by Sean and Chris 2) extremely hot sauces that disarm guests so they give actual answers instead of the traditional bullshit boring responses 3) the unusual interview format that provides a bit more levity and fun than the traditional press junket crap celebrities go through when promoting something I think those three aspects combine to make the best interview show going today. Sean is like a more personable Nardwuar who can ingest liquid fire.
I'm waiting on the first guest that has an insane reaction to the hot sauce and has to be rushed out of there to the ER. I'm a troubled individual.
if we're judging famousness billie eilish is way more famous than theo von(social media followings, cost to go see in person, etc), like absurdly not a contest overall, but just not this boards demographic but i also find people getting defensive or whining about not knowing a guest dumb i like not knowing the guest
for the record i cursorily knew who eilish was for a while but only actually knew who she was when the wife asked to go see her in town a month or two ago its like $250 to get in the door, standing room tickets i did not know who theo von was
Oh I don’t care it I don’t know them. I admittedly say I’m old at 38. I usually just don’t watch it if I don’t know them.
I watch em all because suffering through hot food makes me laugh regardless. Except I shut taraji p Henson off. She was insufferable.
They're all entertaining enough if you watch, the final sauce is up to 2m+ on the scoville, wtf. it was like 550k a couple seasons ago. Someone gonna die eventually when the wings can't even be touched and a robot has to feed them.
They don't suffer as much with the last sauce as I expected, and I think it basically comes down to your mouth only being able to feel so hot. It just seems like once they get hit with Da Bomb and the next sauce, their mouth literally can't feel any hotter than it does. Some of those sauces can cause blisters, I'd love for them to do a followup about how the next couple days went for the guests.
only comedian pod I listen to sometimes is Maron i was going off his wikipedia where its a hugee portion of it
