youtube actually recommended me something good for once. this band is silly technical death metal but i liked it. reminds me of something like Native Construct
Not remotely metal but new Black Lung is out and it rules more than their first two releases which I also enjoyed.
So I guess The Elysian Fields have a new album after being dormant for a decade and a half. If you like that Belphegor sound this is for you, nobody would guess this is the same band from the 90's.
when you guys don't listen to metal, what do you listen to to relax? i find that metalheads have a certain sound/aesthetic that also applies to more downtempo music. i've been digging neo/dark-folk band Ulvesang's album The Hunt, Tycho - Dive, and The Fugees - The Score. wide range there, i know.
pretty much in order of how often it happens: youtube videos about video games classic rock post rock. progressive rock. guitar instrumental. aesop rock 90s/early 2000s rock, no grunge. includes butt rock. i feel as bad about it as i should, believe me. all of the things burnttatertot assumes i listen to sinatra
I really like Guthrie Govan's Erotic Cakes album. Stanley Jordan did an awesome album of covers in the 90s. Matt Garstka has a project called Gem with a pianist and a bassist that have put out a handful amazing tunes.
Dillinger drummer's new band. Reminds me a lot of a band i used to listen to a lot but cant remember the name of
new baroness. kind of disappointing. plus i see they're committed to using just about the loudest production possible.
Standard Baroness, I liked it. Though it could have been because I just finished listening to some Dillinger Escape Plan clone.
similar to the last album, it seems like they're trying to do this layering thing with the sound, and they come in with these parts that are loud and staticky, but it doesn't really work when the whole album is already way too loud still love their early stuff though
I like that Baroness track more than the other, admittedly few, songs I've heard by them. That's all I've got for now
Rauhnacht - Urzeitgeist Exesa - Exesa Suhnopfer - Offertoire Wiegedood - De Doden Hebben Het Goed III
The Raunchy album was quite good. Nice little Burzum cover there at the end. I got excited to see there's a 2018 effort but upon listening it didn't really have the same feel. Different production and the album starts off quite troll metal/folky. Exesa didn't stick, it certainly wasn't bad, just not my typical BM style. Suhnopfer was great, need to check out the other albums, I'll eagerly be awaiting that new album due out in a couple months. The 'dood band was also awesome, surprised that signing to Century Media didn't doom them to suck. Still need to hear the debut.
Nice dude, glad you enjoyed. Wiegedood is currently touring the US with Skeletonwitch if you're interested in seeing them live.
I've been informed there's an Aborted/Cryptopsy show next week. A bit surprised Cryptopsy isn't the headliner, love Aborted but apparently underestimated their popularity.
I've seen Cryptopsy multiple times. I've been told I'm going but I'll need to see Aborted's setlist first. Either Nailed Through Her Cunt or To Roast & Grind will need to be on it. Tour starts tomorrow.
Your Apehammer band above leaked today Joe, I downloaded it in case I get bored but I know I wont be able to get over those vocals. Dude sounds like Angela from AE. Some other stuff leaked too, starting tonight off with some Swedish Death, album due out tomorrow.
Tonight is starting off well, new Obscure Infinity came out yesterday. Most FDA stuff you can blind buy with confidence, unless you're into that troll/fake folk metal all the bigger labels seem obsessed with.
What a great night for new stuff! Usually it's just shit new album after shit new album. Tonight started off with the Obscure Infinity, likely their best release to date, and finished with what could end up being my top album for 2019.

My buddy found an old flash drive with the whole tape of PBA and a couple early snotrokitz tapes. He’s gonna do some remastering then post it all on YouTube. I’m stoked. I was listening to a lot of nausea and cap cas at the time. Nobody here will probably like it but fuck it. We were DIY teenagers
