Probably the most surprising thing that could happen this weekend would be Nolf or Nickal losing. Nolf down 2-0 after 1.
Always loved Micah's style, just hated how helpless he was on bottom. Freshman Micah was so god damn entertaining to watch, he was incredible.
I don't think it should have been, but my guess is they said he didn't have weight on his hands by the time hidley had control.
Will definitely be cheering for him to win it all next year. Hit me in the feels to see his face after the match to lose that way is gut wrenching
Did time run out before Hidlays first period takedown? That’s the only thing I thought would reverse that call. Great match.
Kinda different situation because Oliver's non-takedown was in the closing seconds of the third period, and the rule was changed to make it a takedown the next season. Hidlay's non-takedown was at the end of the first. The sequence at the end of the third was certainly not a takedown. Maybe he would have gotten there if he had another 5-10 seconds, but he ran out of time. The right guy won both matches, but I firmly believe JO and Hidlay both outwrestled their opponents in losing efforts.
Almost had to be that, ESPN didn't do a good job showing the clock. Wish we had some transparency on that.
Oh shut the fuck up. PSU is the best, Nolf is an all timer, but he got fucking lucky. Don't always be a bitch in here
Late period takedown is essentially 2 takedowns, was a huge fucking call. Love Nolf and Zain but annoyed that the refs determined his only tight result of the last what, 3 years. Can't remember anyone testing him.
Glad Stevis is back so you can’t just sit back and admire the work by the Nits. Now we have reason to root against them even though the title is decided
Honestly don't give a fuck about the team title, half our team doesn't deserve a thing. Badly want Myles and 1/2 of McKenna/Micah to win tomorrow. Hopefully Pletcher can get to 3/4, think this is the best he's ever wrestled.
I really want Myles to get another title. He's so good that it's crazy. If not for Myles Martin, Bo Nickal might be considered one of the best collegiate wrestlers of all time.
If Joseph wins 4, will he even be considered a top 5 Penn State wrestler. I'd probably put him at #5 of this cycle alone.
Shields is very good, just not at that level. Probably a bit too small for 165 as well, Joseph stopped him power pretty easily
I’ve rewatched the nolf takedown. I still can’t see how that wasn’t a takedown. I might need a different angle. Quentin Wright also lost a title to the old takedown rule but maybe I’m wrong about that.
#1 is Zain Retherford Then you have a group of Taylor, Ruth, Nickal, Nolf, Cenzo, and Hall. If Cenzo wins 4 I think you have to put him at #2, no? Certainly above Hall.
Zahid looking like Zahid It's weird. Cenzo beating Martinez twice should certainly play into it but domination of Nickal/Nolf has been insane.
