Skill cap is huge. Super fun hero though. I can’t play the hero and not have fun, like playing dagon SB
Had a Lion first pick mid, he's DotaPlus level 25. He decimates mid, up 3-0 on their Veno. our BS carry has a 6 minute midas and an early radiance. Our pos 5, ss, takes the 10 minute tome. SS is level 5, our mid Lion is level 11. "GG SS STOLE TOME WALKING MID" Lion then feeds 15 deaths walking mid and we lose. #Dota https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4640523603
Also when all 9 of us threatened reports he said "This isnt even my main account" (It had 4 arcanas and a level 25 Lion dotaplus. Pretty sure he's just a huge piece of shit)
Handcuffed and I have a 25% win rate together this month. I knew it was bad, but that’s abysmal lol. Even though miles quit dota I still have most games played with him, Handcuffed coming up fast though https://www.opendota.com/players/112963446/peers
lol, just my annual break from the game. I got annoyed by how bad matchmaking had been after the seasonal reset, but I'll be back to my abusive relationship soon enough.
My friends and I finally upgraded from Civ 5 to Civ 6, and I’m still trying to finish Pillars of Eternity 2, but I end up bored with those and queue for some Dota instead
sold a bunch of my dota hats for $150. Probably have another 100-150 still in there. I think spent like 800+ over 7 years
I don’t really have anything pricey. I have all the TI immortals since 2016 and that’s about it. I sold back almost every treasure instead of opening duplicates and I’m pretty sure I’m neutral cash wise from TIs, but I didn’t make my money back from any of the seasonal battle passes. + I’ve had DOTA Plus for 4 months. Probably ~$100 over 3 years.
One of the best changes to the game in a while was giving TP's and BoT separate cooldowns. Almost single handedly made split pushy strats viable again after the multiple years of deathball/5 man meta. Before my break I basically started playing batrider for the first time in pubs because the BoT 2nd/3rd item build is so good where you can shove a lane, wait for players to TP and defend, then TP back and get a pickoff or take a fight with a numbers advantage.
It's interesting because I so rarely see BoTs anymore now that TPs got their own item slot, freeing up a spot for TPs. And yet, they are stronger than ever before. Also, it's hard to remember how miserable life was playing support with 6 item slots, no TP slot, no backpack, and always having to carry a TP. Wards, TP, boots, dust, stick... you get 1 empty item slot for something. Wind lace, raindrops both were more recent item additions, but I just remember never having any fucking room ever. Never carried smoke, always had to fly and use from courier. So many amazing QoL changes.
Also coincidentally right after talking about split push/BoTs being viable again Team Team won a 70 minute game purely off a split push octarine core lycan lol 15k hero damage and 24k tower damage by envy
NiP is so bad and so hopeless. At least OpTic was fun to watch with zai/33 doing cool things. I am lost as a dota fan.
Aaaaand they just stomped Forward G1. Handcuffed i think I’m coming around on the Lion aether before blink build. Pros certainly love it
I've kind of been thinking the blink cooldown going from 12-14-15 over time is a bigger nerf than it seems at first glance. Makes it much harder to jump in and out of fights. Especially on squishy supports that have multiple short 8-12 second cooldown abilities. I guess it's probably a good thing that blink is a fairly situational item now. For years it was core in every game on ~ 50% of heroes.
Yeah blink win rates used to be insane on almost all heroes. Problem with lion is, you are a bad initiator. You blink in, hex/stun, but then you are dead. With finger now, you want to stay alive long enough to get a kill with it. Aether does that better than blink, if you initiate with blink. Using blink to KS is a different story
what an idiot i am that grand finals was pretty fun to watch (though i didnt understand what was happening for a lot of the games... drow/huskar strat only to sit back and farm?)
So glad they won but good god what a terrible mid game. Group as 5 and go high ground. You had net worth advantage and an underfarmed spec and ehome had only 2 towers dead at 21 minutes. They kept smoke ganking nip and delaying their push because ace and fata just farmed. 33 double doom build won them the game, and killing the rubick without buy back (holy fuck what a great rubick performance). I didn’t see the other 4 games, but glad NiP is in the major.
https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4699882699 58 sentries + dust + slardar + Zeus. For a pos 4 Riki. Meanwhile my sniper freefarmed all game and went basically unchecked for most of the game. What a miserable game of dotes
https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4703378127 https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4703486271 Really wanted to play carry so I played a couple of unranked... not sure what else I am supposed to do to win games
Anyone interested in buying a few of my premium DotA hats? I'll give you substantial discount as long as you promise to never re-sell them.
also, i feel like jakiro is idiot proof for ranked https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4699945675 i fed a couple of early kills and missed a few ice paths, and still had so much lane pressure
99% chance we get an AM super rare immortal. I’d assume another LS and TB immortal too. Also probably CM
