Only problem with Watchmen was how Snyder made Ozy into an obvious villain. I even liked the change in the ending.
Just caught Aquaman. Not that bad. Dialogue was meh. Heard was looking good Enjoyed seeing Drago Didn't expect him to show up on a Kaiju They really wanted to give themselves future options by not killing hardly anyone. I want more of King Atlan.
I’m seeing it next Saturday. Pretty excited. Early reactions aren’t just positive, they’re pretty overwhelming. And DC has started a trend with releasing films they know are going to do well with audiences in limited release early to create more buzz. Certainly worked well with Aquaman. And yes, I saw that early as well
I got my tickets for next Saturday too. Yep it’s going to do well. Not a billion but it’s a smaller budget movie. They are releasing it in China during a 3 day holiday weekend. The first screenings in Japan this week got all praises.
What I’ve seen in the previews and early reviews is it is a FUN movie, which I think it a great change of pace for DC. I don’t think I’ve seen one negative first reaction, and WB letting audiences see it two weeks before wide release certainly says a lot. I think I said it earlier in this thread, but “Big with superpowers” seems to be a fairly common reaction.
I’m definitely watching this. The two comics series which crossed them over were actually really good.
My kid is hyped for Shazam and I think it’ll be entertaining. I tend to gravitate toward DC’s “off” heroes...Shazam, Martian Manhunter, Constantine...so I hope they do well with this.
Why is WB potentially caving to Ezra Miller? I get Fox siding with Ryan Reynolds over Tim Miller but nobody would give a shit if they recast Ezra.
Shazam is going to be the first DC movie I actually go to see in he theaters since BvS. That has looked like it will be good since the first trailer.
From Aquaman and Shazam! producer... How excited should people be for Suicide Squad 2? "First of all, we don’t call it Suicide Squad 2 ‘cause it’s a total reboot, so it’s The Suicide Squad and I think people should be extremely excited about it. It’s everything you would hope from a James Gunn script and I think that says a lot and that promises a lot and I know that we will deliver a lot."
Gf started feeling sick so we had to leave. What I did see was great. I’ll watch it completely next week.
What are your questions? I’m not going to do an entire plot synopses (it will be on Wikipedia shortly), but I’m fine with answering anything specific.
Spoiler Kind of. I know that sounds like an odd answer, but you’ll understand when you see the movie. This film is definitely more set in the universe than Aquaman. There are tons of references to other heroes, especially Superman and Batman.
Spoiler First one sets up Mr. Mind as the bad guy for the next film. Second one is making fun of Aquaman.
Fandango did something similar to the Aquaman release, where there were screenings across the country yesterday
