The Mahomes is going straight to the personal collection (Chiefs fan). I listed the Luka on eBay yesterday. It's the only PSA 10 (so far) so my asking price is pretty astronomical. I'm in no hurry to unload it so I set it pretty high just to see what kind of offers come in.

What do you have it listed under? Not showing up for panini contenders Luka 99 or with 10 in the title

Hey guys just a quick question, just recently I got my baseball card collection from my parents home. I understand 99% of them will be junk and not worth a cent, but are there places i could take the collection and have someone look through them or do I need to do it myself.

Slew of new shit in the mail today, both raw and graded. Personal favs are two Edgar and one Altuve pack autos. Slabs more of the same, Puckett's, Mattingly's, Canseco's, Strawberry's, etc. Another Robin Yount rookie as well as a Don Baylor/Dusty Baker rookie. Anyone know the story on Topps not giving rookies their own cards until the 80's? Did they deem them not worthy? I know some players had their own card, but they usually had some AB's the previous year (still their rookie 'card'). Most of the time Topps crammed 3 or 4 guys onto one card if a true rookie.

Before the season started last year I sold a Hader 1st Bowman Red Refractor Autograph #5/5, graded PSA 10 for $800. I thought that was an incredible deal. Then he went and put up one of the more dominant seasons for a RP in recent memory and I don't even want to know what that would sell for now. :tebow:

I don't like to get caught up in the bowman prospect card game because it's an easy way to get slaughtered if you view it as an investment. It is very hard for players to hold or increase their value when they are called up, especially if they don't hit the ground running. A lot of guys fall off a cliff i.e. Buxton, Gregory Polanco and others just don't get off to hot starts like Amed Rosario.

Unless they're trout , it's best to sell early imo. I just like hader and I got it cheap , compared to his recent sales.

Picked up a bunch of autos today, including an Albert "Don't Call Me Joey" Belle. I noticed he doesn't seem interested in signing his Indians cards. Speaking of Indians, how the hell is Kenny Loften not in the HOF? Worse yet, he fell off the ballot in year one. He deserves HOF more than Harold fucking Baines. I had no opinion on Harold Baines before he was put in the Hall, now I despise him.

Just experienced a first. Sold a PSA 10 card on eBay and the buyer opened a return request when he got it saying he was unhappy with the condition of the card.

So while I understand the best measure of value is eBay, I went ahead and bought a current Beckett to get some quicker value guidance. I haven't looked at one of these since like 1995. Noticed the following:

    - they only have sets starting in 1980.
    - they don't have any Score or Score related sets (pinnacle, for example)
    - and they seem to be missing random some panini sets (Excalibur is one I noticed for basketball)

Regarding first bullet, I imagine it's a cost issue and many people subscribe online, but considering they fit 1980-2000 in like 3 pages it wouldn't be asking too much to have 3-5 pages (if even that many) it would take to include pre 1980 sets. Especially if the damn thing costs $10

I think so but I didn't see it for sale at Barnes and Noble. They have a website anyway. When I was little we got that one a lot because my dad thought it was more cost effective...since it had a price guide for all sports in one issue, whereas Beckett was separate for each sport. That was actually pretty cool. I remember it not being as comprehensive though, where not all subsets were in it. And their practice to keep things short was to do the "unlisted stars" common price, where Becket would only do that for the cheap commons. Now Beckett does that too.

It was only $30. They bought a more expensive (graded PSA 10) card last month and were very persistent in asking me how the card looked compared to the scan so I guess they're very particular about their cards. Maybe they should look into being a grader.

Most of the reason why I shared that info was to try and get the thread back going. That reason for a return is nothing compared to some of the excuses I've gotten while selling on ebay. Yes, I screen shot all the crazy reasons. Here are a few:

"I can't pay for this item." - 2 hours after winning an auction. Thanks for bidding then.

"I have bad news. I have been buying cards and my wife found out and kicked me out of the house so I am low on funds. I am sorry but I can't pay for the items."

"I'm going to be in the mental hospital for the next week or so. So I won't be able to make a payment because I'm not aloud (sic) my phone. I'm very sorry."

Those are pretty good. I work in eCommerce so I’ve seen my fair share of stupid questions and return reasons. Things like it wasn’t the size I expected (too large or too small), we provide the dimensions in multiple places on site.

Some of the useless shit in the last couple mail days. I've decided I'm gonna start consuming some of the auto sets, basically any of them that catch my eye like the 2013 Tribute and 2018 Museum. I'll likely assemble most of the pack pulled autos from the 90's too.

I've opened a few boxes of 2019 Topps Baseball lately and I'm not sure I'm a huge fan. I don't really like the design of the card and I've been underwhelmed at some of the cards I've gotten. It advertises an 'auto or jersey' per box but I've gotten 4 jerseys in 4 boxes. It's a cheap product so you can't really get slaughtered on it but it doesn't even compare to 2018 Topps Update IMO.

I just want to say my dad took me to the baseball card store when I was little and he said I could pick out 1 card, this was around 99-2000 IIRC

I was down to a Greg Maddux rookie card and an edgardo Alfonso card that had a piece of his game used jersey in it(this was right when they started putting pieces jerseys and bats in the cards)

I picked the Alfonso card because I thought it was so cool his jersey was in it

I still wake up every now and then with the sweats wondering wtf I was thinking
