Christ... about a month since this thread was bumped. Probably because we've done fucking nothing this offseason. Apparently they "feel great about who we have". Sounds like they're counting on bounce-back seasons from basically everyone.
Brother landed in Chicago yesterday talk to him this morning was heading to Wrigley for the first time to get a little work out in. Hoping for some pics soon.
Apparently Bryant, at cubs con, said playing in st Louis is boring and cardinal nation has lost their collective shit lmao. Clearly the bigger issue is KB and Bryce attending a Florida Georgia Line show
Can't wait for the Cubs new network to take Dempster so I dont have to see his dumbass on MLB Network anymore
Remember Luke Hagerty? He’s back: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...itcher-luke-hagerty-improbable-comeback-story Really interesting article about how this played out for him over time
It really is an amazing story. Dude is throwing 96 consistently and has hit 99 on occasion.... oh he's a lefty. Him feeling like he owed the Cubs/Fans more for the support is beyond awesome. I wish him nothing but the best. This pen could use a lefty tossing 96 with a nasty breaking ball.
I know. The four bb in the first outing was awesome considering how happy he is to be playing this year.
So looks like Hoyer and Theo struck gold with another draft prospect... Nico Hoerner is crushing it this spring. As is 2018 MLPOY Jared Young. On the flip side the bullpen is a fucking disaster... GO FUCKING GET KIMBREL
Consistent at bats from the left side of the plate is what they're saying. He had a bad spring though.
Terrible 2H of last season to go along with a bad spring. He has options left vs some others who don’t. Similar to what they did with Kyle
I like everyone but kintzler, he can fuck off. Hopefully Cj emerges to what everyone thinks he can be. I'm a fan of collins though.
Like it a lot. EDIT: Just noticed it's not a club option in 2024, less exciting but still like it. I'm confused though, because it's being reported a 55.5m deal with a 1.5m buyout in 2024, which would indicate a club option. We'll see.
Yeah but the arb year isn't part of the extension. The extension is 4 years 55.5m with escalators....and apparently a vesting option 5th year.
TheAthletic did an article polling MLB players about a variety of topics. This answer was amusing for what city do you least like going on a road trip to. On Chicago: “When I say Chicago, I mean the White Sox. Chicago as a city is fine, the Cubs are fine.”
Hopefully this is one of many to be announced... Theo and Hoyer hinted at being close with a few players on extension and specifically Bryant. You are starting to see the trend go the other way and young players signing long extensions with clubs again. Hope the Cubs can take advantage of this with Baez, Bryant, Wilson and some others.
For years the Cubs were at the top of this poll because the visitors club house was such a shit show.
Did the tour as part of a neighborhood event back in 2003. Can confirm. It was like a phone booth for an entire team.
