they've extended every deadline for orders ever. free supercharging through monday! now wednesday! now the end of the month! but it worked the stock is up 2.5% since that tweet
Remember when I said Tesla was purchasing the car hauling company because Elon promised it and didn’t want another fraud charge?
https://www.gq.com/story/elon-musk-yelp-reviews Virginia transpiration folks not impressed with musks sewage tunnel When Musk conceived of The Boring Company—famously, via a series of frustrated tweets posted in the midst of an L.A. traffic jam—he pledged a network of subterranean luggage carousels, on top of which vehicles would park before being magically WHOOSHED from one end of town to the other at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour. Since then, he has pivoted to a system in which cars are equipped with "tracking wheels" that flip out from underneath the front bumper and run along rails built into the tunnel. Astute students of transportation will note that this ostensibly paradigm-wrecking technology bears a remarkable resemblance to "the train."
I mean it isn't an illusion that it's actually bigger bc it is further away. If the Y was in the foreground and the 3 behind it, it would look bigger even though it isn't. It looks a good bit bigger
I think there’s a lot of show going on here...I don’t mean to suggest that they don’t have a serious plan in mind, but I don’t consider the steps they’ve taken to date to be substantive. They’ve purchased a used boring machine. They’ve put a bore in the neighborhood where they developed the SpaceX product, and they’ve taken a Model 3 and put guidewheels on it and they’re running it through the tunnel at 60 miles per hour. None of that, I think, is really significant from a standpoint of moving this process forward.
My favorite thing about the boring company is Elon being like we are going to make bricks from the excavated ground and use them to build low income houses! As if the thing that kept houses from being affordable is a shortage of bricks
This must be some sort of mistake. Dear leader Elon would never do such a thing he is changing the world for everyone’s benefit
https://carbuzz.com/news/teslas-are-too-reliable-for-regular-maintenance Annual maintenance schedule changed, one aspect people don’t talk with EV’s is the fact oil changes, transmission fluid flushes, etc are unnecessary. The only common components shared with ICE vehicles are suspension, tires, and brakes*. *brake pad wear is significantly less due to regenerative braking. Spoiler: Maintenance Schedule • Tire Rotation, Balance, and Wheel Alignment: 10,000 - 12,000 miles • Brake Fluid Test/Flush: 2 years • Cabin Air Filter: 2 years • High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filter: 3 years (if equipped) • Air Conditioning Service: 2 years (Model S), 4 years (Model X), 6 years (Model 3) • Winter Care: Annually or every 12,500 miles for cars in cold weather climates
Tl;dr lady keys a guys Model 3 while it’s in the new Sentry Mode, uses the video to identify her and she’s arrested for vandalism.
Friend of a friend told this story so I don’t know how much truth is in it but he ordered a $35k model 3 and they called him to tell him delivery wouldn’t be available for a while. They offered him a Model S100 for $65k that he could pick up immediately and he bought it. Something about clearing out the models at a local store
Believe that means the model 3 is a scam per the $Tsla folks Or up selling for other businesses Or an anecdotal data point...and I thought the base model s was like 75K
This seems odd. Perhaps more remarkable was that the Tesla owner seemed to have had an inkling that his vehicle was about to get vandalized. A day before the attack, the Model 3 owner found a small yet worrisome scratch on his car, which resulted in him rushing to a store to purchase a 32 GB memory stick. When he parked his vehicle on a Friday, he made sure that Sentry Mode was active. As it turned out, the Tesla owner’s intuition was correct.
https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a26948744/tesla-model-3-deliveries-delays/ "I just got a call from someone at Tesla asking me to pay more for the longer-range Model 3. Otherwise, my configuration won't be ready until the end of June," one user on the Reddit r/TeslaMotors threadposted on Monday. "This is after telling me my car would be ready by the end of March and having me cough up more cash when I ordered."
Doesn't really make sense. Market for a 40-50K car should be drastically different than a 80-100K car. It's like saying a carrola cannibalized a Lexus sedan's market
Where do you think car carriers picked up and deliver cars? They don't do it on residential streets. The people I know that have shipped cars always do it in a parking log near by
Eh, maybe. but even so, the market for a 3 opens it up to a fuck load more people. Anecdotal, but everyone I know with an S can afford it. Don't know anyone that is car poor just to have a tesla
It’s honestly probably a promo shoot for the semi. I don’t take it that they are actually delivering cars with one of the two semis they have actually constructed on a consistent basis, probably a one off thing if at all.
Wasn’t it just like 2 weeks ago that no one was buying model 3s according to you? So now it’s cannabilazing S&X sales.
SR+ have been delivered, SR have not. Might be a delay till end of quarter, they would rather sell higher priced cars than the lowest margin one. I doubt the June thing but we’ll see. Again key note is they said they’d start making SR soon but peak SR production wouldn’t be till June
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/tesla-pull-off-another-model-110020303.html Bloomberg tool, which has beaten analysts estimates every quarter so far and been within a percentage point the last two quarters, predicts that Tesla will report almost 16,000 more model 3s sold first quarter than the analyst estimates. That would result in an extra $800 million of revenue.
Some advanced summon videos have been coming out lately, it’s still in beta testing mode to a select few but kinda cool to see. The turn at about 1:47 is impressive to me. Advanced summon is basically the car coming to you by itself in a parking lot, etc via gps.
I find it annoying that he's made a big deal about making sure everyone pays full price for a Tesla, and doing it in the interest of being fair to all consumers, yet that full price changes constantly. I think it's one thing to adjust prices once or twice a year, but it's quite another to talk about fair pricing when that pricing is changed often and seemingly on a whim.
