It’s totally dependent on the caller which is obvious, but I really like Gethard, and it can be a phenomenal podcast, it’s just very hit or miss for me given the subjects are totally random.
Completely agree, I've found myself skipping around certain episodes. The one about the school teacher was extremely uncomfortable.
Took a break from BSFAP to listen to the Intercept Podcast (Highly recommend). That's when I came across the podcast "Caliphate". It's pretty insane and Rukmini C. has my respect for diving deep into this terrorist organizing. Even after having a number of threats against her and her family. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/caliphate/id1357657583?mt=2
The episode on Alex Jones is a great listen. It's one of the reasons that Joe Rogan pisses me off more for defending that clown so much.
Pretty sure we discussed Caliphate when it came out. If you want to try to go back and find it itt. Intercept pod is great.
I'm glad Intercept pod isn't too all over the place. I've knocked out three of the more recent episodes of Deconstructed w/ Mehdi Hasan.
I'm wrapping up Caliphate as I post this. This kid from Canada deserves to be in prison. I feel little to zero sympathy for him in this situation.
In The Dark updated today with coverage from the Curtis Flowers SCOTUS case at the end of March. Just aired on NPR up here in Minnesota.
This dude who listens to a lot of podcasts (140+ days worth to be exact) bought a '16 Mazda. For some reason, his car specifically has an issue with the 99% Invisible show and immediately shuts down when it's played.
Reply All is a major recommend. I got hooked by the snapchat episode but am gradually going back and listening to all of them.
Holy shit - I just listened to the snapchat ep of Reply All. That's an incredible and terrifying story. Thanks for the recommendation.
If you've listened to episode 7 of Sword and Scale. This case should be relevant to you. Arguably one of the most uncomfortable podcast episodes I've ever heard. http://swordandscale.com/sword-and-scale-episode-7/ https://fox8.com/2019/04/16/florida...been-found-near-notorious-boys-reform-school/
the backstory one about industrial accidents was great 21 people drowned in molasses and 100+ were injuried in boston in like 1919, because there were no zoning laws and these giant tanks were in the middle of some neighborhood. holy fuck.
Calling Leopold II The King of Belgium really got my goat. The monarchical title is King of the Belgians. A hand needs to be chopped off every time someone gets that wrong.
I thought it was an error when they started to download. Gonna take a couple days to get through this.
Listened to Murderville today and it was solid. Only 6 30 minute episodes, so it was a quick listen. Takes place about 30 minutes from where the Up and Vanished stuff happened here in south ga
Really surprised by the lack of To Live in Die in LA talk, TBH. Spoiler Chris Sr. did it, Jr. saw it happen or knew about it and he couldn’t live with the guilt.
I feel the reverse. Spoiler Chris did it, maybe with encouragement from Dad, dad assisted in disposal of the body, both are huge pieces of shit, but Adea also seemed crazy.
I don’t disagree with either of those statements Spoiler but there was also crystal meth in the sons car, so I don’t think it’s unlikely that he was in a shitty place, likely on drugs, and a mess.
Spoiler About that...how the hell was everything in that truck not confiscated and logged as evidence? Between the drugs and the diaries, there was a lot of incriminating shit there.
To live and die in la spoilers Boo MFer! Detlef Schrempf Spoiler I think at the very least Chris jr planned to have her murdered. One of them did it but they both know what happened. No other explanation as to why he lied about the funeral and took her away for the weekend
S3 of It Could Happen Here is not uplifting. I hate whomever posted about it and I hate myself for listening while on staycation.
Spoiler You’re probably right. The lie about the funeral is pretty bad, but there’s no doubt in my mind the wacko Dad is involved.
Nothing comes up on Google Images, but there’s a very active Facebook profile with his name that says the person is from Colorado and now lives in a city near Whetland, CA. There’s also pics of him on horses. Didn’t they bring that up in the pod? Spoiler
