Imagine observing Theresa May's incompetent government and concluding the real actors at fault are the ones on the Left. And that Brexit is - or ever was - a great idea. some Grade A whataboutism, "Well Corbyn secretly wants Brexit too!" Good god.
Who is saying that real actors are fault are the ones on the left? Neither Jay Jay Okocha or I were doing that. Forget Grade A whataboutism, it's a complete straw man.
You don’t have a scooby what you’re talking about. Corbyn is complicit in this farce. - he didn’t bother his hole to campaign against Brexit. Because he is an ardent Eurosceptic with a voting record against his own Party and consistently anti Europe - he has three line whipped his Party on numerous occasions on votes critical to Brexit, including starting this ridiculous Article 50 countdown. - the so called “believer in the supremacy of the voice of the membership” has consistently tried to stop the Labour Party position moving to a second vote. He tried it at Conference and despite it being policy of the party, continues to delay it. British Parliamentary democracy only works with a strong opposition. The layers there in other democracies are just not there. There has been a Labour Party where the leader has opened up questions vs the PM on trivial constituency matters rather than Brexit and pressing matters of the day. He is a complete and utter disaster. That is not absolving May of anything - though I firmly believe whoever took on that job was taking on a shit sandwich of epic proportions. The Conservative Party is jampacked of morons and nationalistic morons, none of that is disputed. However, the Conservative Party also has lots of Pro Europeans in it. It led the U.K. into Europe, when the U.K. left was firmly against it. Jeremy Corbyn peddled outdated ideas and he is also an idiot. He is continuing that part of Labour’s Lefts historic position on Europe, but is lying about it. Once again, you don’t know what you’re talking about and are trying to bring your GOP/Democrat fight club tactics into this. Read up on this topic or watch the documentaries I posted already in this thread.
Another waffle laden question from Corbyn to open up PMQs there. Vote tonight to take No Deal off the table, but it has no effect in law.
Those lads are basically racists, anti Euro and/or they are free market utopians. I’d have time for a few of them but it’s an extremely small view.
No Deal has been voted down 312-308. Several Cabinet ministers abstained and ignored the Party whip. Chaos in Westminister.
Hardcore Brexiteers probably cave in and vote for deal on 3rd attempt, otherwise take a chance at even softer form of leaving or a second referendum. Would make the most sense anyway.
A couple of the hardliner ERG guys just said they won't support her deal. She needs the DUP to flip to make it happen. The DUP are dullards but despite this being their get out of jail free card (another Vote), I think they might ultimately cave.
DUP seemed like they were wanting to back it until the legal advice didn't change. I wouldn't be shocked if they fold, and if they do, most of the ERG will as well.
The DUP are shitting themselves. They have put this on the line about maintaining the Union so any pivot is going to be very difficult for them to do and save face. Of course the vast majority in Northern Ireland are against them.
The EU has already said they aren’t renegotiating. I don’t see why they would extend the deadline unless it was to conduct a second referendum
A referendum or a technical extension if she gets her deal over the line (they need to put a load of stuff through to enact her deal and won’t have time now). She can always Revoke Article 50 as the European Courts have ruled the U.K. can do this if in good faith. That is contestable but I think ultimately would avoid a cliff edge in the short term and focus enough minds close to a court hearing that a deal/another vote gets through. She doesn’t want to revoke A50 as it will get even messier for her politically.
It's just putting pressure on her own party to get them to back the deal next week or potentially have a 2 year delay.
My favorite thing so far is the stories of people getting divorced on the basis that one of them supported Brexit and people not realizing how massively stupid the entire movement was lmao
I havent heard if any divorces, that sounds like Daily Mail fodder. Birds of a feather, and all that. At the minute, it's just the uncertainty that is making business difficult, and the politicians seem to be more interested in point scoring than grouping together for the best long term future of the country (although I'm sure that's not limited to the UK)
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/brex...ed-to-leave-the-eu-says-nhs-doctor/ar-BBQF4Tm there ya go. There are more and the dawning on the peoples' faces that these politics aren't just some flippant thing is sad and worthwhile and, from the outside, very, very funny.
14 away from another Referendum....but still think a hybrid Norway arrangement is the likeliest outcome. Public Polling is terrible for anything the Conservatives are offering up.
These fuckwits don't have anything done two days before they're supposed to leave the EU. Everyone needs to hold onto their butts on Friday.
The EU gave them an extension for two weeks but said another vote on May’s deal is required this week. This is an excellent read on how badly the U.K. were schooled in the negotiations. https://www.politico.eu/article/how-uk-lost-brexit-eu-negotiation/amp/
Does he think he's in line to take her position if she steps down? That seems like such a bizarre flip.
