Really dig this new Ex Hex album. New Strand of Oaks as well. Dude spent days sleeping on benches near where I was born. Was a fan even before I knew that but pretty incredible what he’s become and was a real mindfuck when I learned that. Nothing good comes out of NEPA except The Office.
The Stand of Oaks story is neat. His album HEAL was pretty good, super emotional And yes I've listened to the new Ex Hex like 100 times already. It's elite
Great tribute to Scott Hutchinson - Frightened Rabbit. Kevin Devine, Julien Baker, Craig Finn, Aaron Dressner, and Ben Gibbard sing the songs of Frightened Rabbit live. (better off clicking into the page and not using the embed)
top two really really really stand out for me William Tyler - Goes West (listen to all his stuff, it's stunningly beautiful. Perfect for long road trips or just lounging on your porch) Ex Hex - It's Real (this album has ALL the hooks) then some really good stuff Steve Gunn - The Unseen in Between Panda Bear - Buoys SPELLING - Mazy Fly Hand Habits - placeholder Julia Jacklin - Crushing Jessica Pratt - Quiet Signs need to listen to Nilufer Yanya and Chris Cohen's new album comes out later this week
sharon van etten, the twilight sad, steve gunn, ex hex, julia jaclkin, foals dark horse: Dave - psychodrama
James Blake-Assume Form Solange-When I Get Home Nilüfer Yanya-Miss Universe Julia Jacklin-Crushing Broken Social Scene-Let’s Try the After Vol. 1
Julia Jacklin - Crushing Ex Hex - It's Real Maggie Rogers - Heard It In A Past Life Stella Donnelly - Beware Of The Dogs Better Oblivion Community Center - Self titled girlpool - What Chaos Is Imaginary

I've been listening to this track all weekend and can't get over how hauntingly beautiful her voice is in this song ps it's a bummer that fucking craig finn sang my favorites
my '19 is off to a really slow start album wise, but they always seem to come in bunches for me, plus that Brutus is out Friday
and hey just had this show up in my recommendations, sounds promising, also chuckled at my initial impression of the sax being that it sounded like Kanye singing during his 808 phase The Comet is Coming - Summon the Fire
I just bought tix to this. Justin Vernon posted something on facebook so I jumped all over it, but I am not 100% sure what it is... Familiar with any of the names outside of Dresner and Vernon?
He did something like this in Berlin a year or two ago. Let me dig up an article about it. It’s interesting
The Drums have a new album out next week, it's called Brutalism and you can stream it early at NPR https://www.npr.org/2019/03/28/705505727/first-listen-the-drums-brutalism Loma is Emily Cross and Dan Duszynski (Cross Record), and Jonathan Meiburg (Shearwater). They released an album last year that I completely missed. Today they put out a new single called Half Silences
I read about the one in Berlin and it sounds like they just collectively work on different stuff randomly for a week before and then perform over two days. That doesn’t really help but I want to go. Would kind of be dissapointed to go one day and not see Vernon and Dresner.
Good point. I bought tix for Saturday figuring it would be the bigger night, plus I'm not tired from work and stuff. I am kind of excited no matter what. Just sounds like a really cool vibe of collaboration by all of the people involved and should be cool.
Pioneer works is awesome also. Wish they would do more shows but seems like they are all in on weird art projects, which I don’t mind. But I saw Tallest Man on Earth there with YMusic and it was excellent.
about halfway through this new Brutus album as I pregame for the UNC game and it's more than living up to my expectations, which I'm sure has to be a weight off of their shoulders I am a happy shig
I dunno like 20? Released under several different names: Thee Oh Sees, Oh Sees, OCS everything John Dwyer touches is great
