Sorry i'm not as rich as you burnttatertot . I follow the thread cause it hits on that old collector mentality i used to have. But the hobby is just not for me anymore, I can't afford to dive in like I want to. So I watch others open packs. I am amused you're able to buy all the cards you do, glad you're ass successful as you are. It's fun to watch. Keep on keeping on, enjoy the hobby! I'll keep watching people spend hundreds of dollars to open Rashad Penny and Ronald Jones instead of anything relevant in the hobby.
Alright 2019 Topps, I apologize for my past remarks. It's a pretty lame 1/1 but some Cardinal fan will surely want it. Pulled this today
Why do a mystery redemption? Is it something they add at the last minute to make the numbers work on their pack pulled odds? Make the numbers line up then find a player later to fill that redemption?
Bought some Panini Prizm basketball last night bc of this thread, first packs of cards I've bought in almost 20 years. Pulled this Luka and regular Bagley and Young rookies.
People on eBay are speculating that it could be Vlad Jr. and Tatis as the players who fill those spots. But it's also possible that they are saying that to drive the prices up on their auctions. This redemption is a big pull. One is going on eBay right now and is already at $100 with 6 days left in the auction.
Yaddy Mo will always have a special place in my heart for being on a few winning fantasy baseball lineups.
Once I get all the 90's pack pulled auto sets I'm attracted to I'll likely go after all the others, every 90's pack inserted autograph. Should keep me busy for awhile.
Another box of stuff came this morning, I had no idea since I was 9 at the time but my dad kept both the New York post and daily news newspapers from the day Micky Mantle died, he’s from NY and lifelong Yankees fan dblplay1212
23 autos in the mail today for that 1999 Upper Deck Chiro set. 11 away from completing it. If any of you have the Griffey you need to cough it up.
Forgot a pic, sorry. I think I'm gonna go after this set as well. My first mag subscription as a kid was Sports Illustrated so some of these covers bring back memories.
That '89 Bonds is nice. Pro tip: you can tell how long ago Barry Bonds signed something. From the time he turned pro until about 1988/89, he would sign his name with an "L" in the middle (his middle name is Lamar) but stopped doing it eventually. I've seen the "L" signature carry a small premium and remember seeing something that might be considered exceptionally rare in the late 90s. It was the Bonds "L" signature on a Bart Giamatti Commissioners baseball. I don't recall how much the seller was asking, but that's a very rare item between Barry's signature as such and the fact that Bart Giamatti died before he even served one full season as the commish.
Ordered some Nola, Berrios and Bauer autos. Out of all the younger pitchers I enjoy watching these three the most. Gambling on pitchers is a bad idea in general and I don't recommend it.
Getting a PSA order back is right up there with Christmas Day as a kid. Sent this off in early February and got it back yesterday. Very happy with the grades. Couple 7's in there. I anticipated the Allen Robinson SPX to get a bad grade because 2014 SPX football is a notoriously difficult set, but I wanted my best A Rob 1/1's slabbed for good.
Any autograph experts out there? Mickey Mantle auto jersey going up for auction this wknd. Obviously with no LOA, it is a risk. Gentleman is selling his dad's collection of baseball items. Probably take a shot on it at the right price and gamble... Sometimes pics don't post for me, but hopefully you can see below. #7 on the back of jersey. Spoiler: Pics
Looks a lot like what I’ve seen with loa. Started to go more down the memorabilia route than cards lately. Picked up a couple Rickey balls, hader ball, Corey seager helmet, Harper ball
I pulled a WHALE last week. 2019 Prizm Draft Dual auto of Kyler/Baker Green Parallel numbered to 5. Pretty excited.
