Was a beautiful day at the K today. God they are hurting for ticket sales though. It was a ghost town. I parked closer to the gates than I ever have, even with parking passes.
Also, I didn't see a single one of the "cheap" concession stands. I did find 5.25 cans of Miller High Life and Hamm's though which was lovely
Uncle Hud was just on High Heat with Russo and said "this guy Eric Owings we got from the D'Backs, he's good." His name is Chris, Rex.
That’s ok, I heard our GM on the radio broadcast last night cry that Gordo hit the cut off man instead of throwing straight home even though the correct call 100 times out of 100 is to hit the cut off man in that situation.
Defense will be really good. Offense will be better than expected. But our pitching will be an absolute nightmare.
Pray for rainouts Really, who knows. DM shit the bed on building SP depth in the system. And I'm a huge Duffy fan but he can't be counted on. I want to stretch Zimmer out but apparently he can't be trusted even in the pen.
I'd be fine with Duff in the pen. Then bring up Dick Lovelady and take the leash off Zimmer. For a #5, I'd like to see some Fillmyer. I know he's not Walter Johnson, but he doesn't need to be. If that blows up, just do some cool opener shit. At any rate, make the $5 beers easier to find, and turn Mike McCartney's mic up when he's announcing Mondi's coming to the plate so folks can pay attention.
It's 80 for the first offense, 162 for the second, and lifetime ban for the third. He sucks anyway so it's a moot point
they had to get another starter but you’d think there was some other shitty reliever they could’ve gotten rid of
Maybe the plan is to get him some consistent, regimented work rather than unpredictable appearances out of the pen with the big league club. No clue. He has been wild the last two appearances.
Was laughing at the empty stadium and thought I’d do a little exercise. Gordo, Kennedy, Duffy, and Salvy make up 63% of our budget (Hammel&Wood add another 3.5%). #Moneyball
I'll take the over. Considering Gordo himself got 2.4 bWAR last year, I'd like to think we can get another 0.6 between the other two in the pen rather than the rotation. Duffy had 0.8 last year anyway. Kennedy just needs to be an average reliever and we should likely get there.
Sounds like this is a full year of service time if he stays in KC the rest of the year. So hopefully somebody emerges and we can send him back to Omaha for a few weeks. That said, IDGAF about service time for a reliever.
