Nothing about this show is subtle so I'm guessing the idea is that Connerty is basically young Chuck.
yeah, I agree. but I didn't see it as him being a diabolical asshole so much as just wanting to take down a corrupt u.s. attorney.
Yea that makes sense but to me, it didn't make sense to team with Jeffcoat, who he knows is also corrupt as hell. Now he's the acting US attorney and is going to have to deal with Jeffcoat's bullshit directly. Not losing sleep over it, just don't really love that part of the story.
the scene with axe and hall in the range rover doing game theory on whether or not to put a hit out on taylor was fucking perfect.
I don't really have much to add outside of that I love this show. Not going to argue that it's Emmy worthy, but every week is just so enjoyable.
I do think season 3 took a little while to get started, but loved the back half. I think Chuck vs. Axe was starting to get stale and they successfully pivoted off that.
I wanted to see the wife that signed the post nuptial papers get nekkid. There's going to be a confrontation between Axe and Teddy KGB because he told him if what he did affected his money, there would be problems.
possibilities: chuck on axe's legal team when connerty eventually tries to prosecute for insider trading and/or to help tie taylor up in court. since the AG of NY has to resign to take the job in Washington they will have to appoint a new AG of the state. buffalo bob could win election and do so.
What I don't understand is they both seemed to agree at the bar they weren't going after Chuck for this because he was doing the right thing getting rid of Jeffcoat and then they both decided they'd like to work under Jeffcoat.
Imo most of this show is setting up big dialogue parts at the expense of narrative coherence For example -Grigor openly offers to kill Taylor, because Taylor's split threatens Grigor's money -Grigor openly threatens Axe about losses -Grigor says the main reason he invested in Axe Cap is Taylor -Grigor tells Axe that Axe will pay a severe price if Axe fucks with Taylor's new fund I am fine with this btw
I would be somewhat surprised if we ever see Teddy KGB on this show again. Just doesn't seem like Malkovich's style.
Jeffcoat should have explained Epstein's role for it to make better sense. Only way it adds up is if Epstein was going along with Chuck's plan then Connarty told Jeffcoat, then Jeffcoat forced Epstein to turn on Chuck. If Epstein fucked Chuck from the start then Connarty would just be telling him what he already knew.
That ending just felt weird given how much antimosity there was between Axe and Rhoades for so long. But I think it's good for the show to start taking new angles.
Caught this one scene on showtime a couple hours ago while flipping channels and thinking about the premier tonight. So damn good.
Agreed, but they will undoubtedly run this series too many years and go back to them being enemies soon. Wtf is going on with Malkovich’s character?
Like the new blonde chick, hope ex-wife never comes back. Love the show but not sure I'd even like it without Wags, he's that good.
Last was night was the 12th episode in an 11 episode season IMO. Whole lot of nothing. Even the Dollar Bill story line they used to string out the episode felt like it was pointless. Maybe some of it will play a part down the road.
Pointless in that there wasn’t even a payoff for Chicken Bills antics. I loved the idea of him going down their to fix the chicken man, fucking hilarious, but Axe flies down and stops him from doing...anything...and takes a huge loss? I’m not dwelling on it but usually they wrap those little side bits up tidy.
I legitimately laughed out loud at Chuck Sr. in the exchange with Chuck about getting Wendy mad. episode was absolute fire.
man that was a good episode. for a second I was wondering if it was the season finale when the credits rolled.
