I mean, he puts a substance in it that will eventually make his blood turn to sludge so he does do a lot for his body.
Referred to his tone and moral highground regarding his training and knowing everything that he intakes.
Dillashaw with no fucks to give about getting caught on this one. Although I am curious about the levels he was caught at. Simply curious if he attempted to microdose.
the risk/reward on that would seem pretty crazy, wouldn't it? Have to wonder, with all the drama surrounding his departure from Team Alpha Male if Ludwig knew about this at all. Dillishaw is the only guy Ludwig trains, right?
Man that sucks. I enjoyed watching him fight. At least Cody got his ass whacked by someone other than TJ so... wait who am I kidding? He's still going to run that cocksucker. Hate that fucker.
Oh, absolutely. Using EPO at any dosage nowadays is insanely risky. Microdosing just seems like the only plausible explanation as to what he attempted to do here.
What about the explanation that they were using something to mask it (whatever that means in this case), so they thought they could dope it up and not get caught? On one hand, know there are people pushing the limits, using banned substances or whatever else. But to me, it seems crazy to use anything at this point. But, if TJ has been using his whole career, it becomes a psychological thing too, if he stops, he feels like he loses a step or gets weaker or runs of of gas, etc. Obviously you have to wonder, with the past allegations, and now this, has he been juicing for years? It would make some sense.
I read somewhere that Schaub was recently talking about how USADA switched up the way they were going to test for EPO and he was saying there's going to be a wave of fighters getting popped. Something to that effect. I'm too lazy to actually run it down though.
Yea he did. He’s got too many connections that give him info and he tries to act like he’s just guessing
Got a link to the masking agent talk? That's something I haven't read yet, but would definitely be interested in.
There is no talk of that, that I'm aware of, I'm just saying that might be a legit reason he felt comfortable enough to do this. If they know they have a way to beat the current testing, whether that's a masking agent, or something else, then they take the risk and dope. I can't imagine being dumb enough to take EPO and just hope they don't test for it. Though, again, if that's something he'd done in the past and not been caught, which it looks like was the case, maybe it made him think he could keep doing it.
i couldn’t finish the latest episode it was so hacky with his wwe talk (and i don’t give a shit about wrestling) and once the background dudes laugh it eggs him on and just becomes bad
Pretty good interview, Herb seems like a great guy and is a great ref. I wish Joe would have gotten into more of the Lawler-Askren stoppage. When they start talking about it, Herb said he was told Robbie gave a "thumbs up", but Herb asked, was it like angled down, or coming, up?? So Herb has never seen the video of Lawler LIFTING his hand and giving the thumbs up. It would have been at least interesting to show him that video and get his opinion. But I also get being a ref and not wanting to go back and re-live a potential mistake. Also, I wish Joe would have talked more about Herb and Lawler's interaction right after the fight. If Herb was surprised at how quickly Lawler jumped up, seemingly not dazed or wobbly at all, and if Herb, at that moment, thought he had made a mistake and Lawler was not out. And asked what Lawler said to him, and what a class act Lawler was. Herb did bring up a really good point, that a bulldog choke can do real damage to someone's neck if they are unconscious, and that was his concern. That's a valid point that I hadn't heard anyone discuss.
I usually try not to jump on the refs when they make a mistake or people say it’s a bad stoppage. Can you imagine the responsibility? I’d rather have a bad stoppage than someone get really fucked up hurt all day, every day. I’d have problems when an unconscious fighter eats 3-4 bombs after the fact let alone someone having serious spinal issues. That story he told about a fighter going numb/not being able to feel his arms for that short period of time or whatever? Holy shit I thought Lawlor/Askren was a bad stoppage when I watched it live, but then when I re-watched I thought it could go either way.
The more I re-watch it, in real time, the more I think it was a mistake. I can see thinking the arm dropping was an indication of him being out, but half a second later he raises his arm under his own power. When you watch it in slow motion, it looks like a much better stoppage, but it's still iffy. I do see Herb's point though. He's protecting the fighter.
I just don’t know how you let them go when Robbie’s arm went straight down and limp. That’s really what it came down to for me. And lets be clear, I have no idea what I’m doing
I think that's true....until he picks his arm back up half a second later. You can go - oh shit's he's...oh, ok, maybe not. But I think that's what Herb did, saw the arm, said it's over, and that was that, Robbie could have picked Askren up and thrown him over his shoulder, and Herb was still stopping the fight. The fact that Herb did not see and did not know that Robbie gave him a thumbs up is not a great thing. Herb was right there, Robbie's arm and hand were a foot from his face, and he didn't see it? Again, that's because it was over, Herb was not looking for anything else at that point, but still.
Lawlor walked through Askren’s face. I’m ready to see someone beat his ass. He’s just annoying as shit. Him at the press conference today was cringey as fuck. He tries too hard.
