To whittle it down even more, I'd start with Mutilator Defeated At Last I'll also add Carrion Crawler/The Dream to Cornelius' list
was kind of surprised at how much I liked this as Im usually more of a panda bear fanboy, but the new avey tare album is really good also seen a few mentions here, but that nilufer yanya album is great
They were playing at Bowery Ballroom last Friday and I wanted to go. Tix were scalping for $200. Hard no.
Mac DeMarco - All of Our Yesterdays And I guess I won't be seeing Let's Eat Grandma in a couple weeks as they canceled their US tour dates because one of their boyfriends died. Ffff
Lydia Lund from Chastity Belt is one of my favorite guitarists Kevin Morby fans should check out the link below. Ha maybe write him a letter https://www.loudandquiet.com/interv...uge-from-the-road-and-a-video-prop-warehouse/ Hinds recording new stuff? I'm excited about that

Sad, loved their first album. Wish they made more music. It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tiger Merritt. All who knew him understood that he was an anomaly; we’ve never met someone like him in our lifetime. His musicianship inspired us. His smile was contagious. He was one of the kindest souls that we’ve ever come across, and it hurts to think about how he won’t be a hard-to-reach phone call away. We want to thank everyone who has supported Tiger and our project, every fan and every friend. We’ve always been more than a band; we’ve been a family. Tiger and Travis have been best friends since childhood. Tiger was always someone capable of such beauty in his music, and we wish he could have continued to share that with you. Stay close to your loved ones while they’re here. Let them know what they mean to you. You all have meant the world to him, and you mean the world to us. Love, Morning Teleportation 4/4/2019
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Expanding Anyway is one of my favorite albums of all time, it's actually the first album I discovered from the first iteration of this thread way back in the day when you dropped the link, glad I got to see them at least once
This, as the kids say, slaps. Sego Sucks, by Sego, is also similar to PUP and came out this week. Just a little less nihilism.
The album "Titanic Rising" dropped last week. Absolutely killing the reviews. Early contention for AOTY. IYL Karen Carpenter, Linda Ronstadt, George Harrison, Aimee Mann, Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, etc.
Damn. PUP, Weyes Blood, Laura Stevenson, La Dispute, Angel Du$t, even the new Billie Eilish slaps, we've been rocking and rolling the past few weeks.
if youre looking for something in the hip hop vein I have been playing this one quite a bit this week
Seeing Foals Saturday. Very psyched. Have a ton of shows coming up.. Local natives and middle kids Beck, cage the elephant, and spoon The national Justin Vernon and Aaron Dresner and others Lumineers, revivalists, Sharon Van Etten, and catfish and the bottleman Nick Murphy
Going to the Tame Impala tour opener in Pomona, CA (Coachella pre-show) on Thursday night. ~1,500 capacity theater, no phones allowed show. Getting pretty psyched for it.
Anyone ever see Morrissey or Interpol? Just announced a show for here. Also thoughts on Beach House live?
fuck Morrissey. promoting his concert was the biggest fucking headache Interpol is cool beach house is good music but the worst crowd
Interpol is fantastic. It was sort of a bucket list thing for me when I got to see them finally, more related to their impact on my musical tastes in my formative years. Edit: Wish Carlos would've still been part of the band but what can ya do.
coming up in the next few weeks I have: Ex Hex (same night as Iceage, which will really suck to miss) Jessica Pratt Kevin Morby Omni Idles summer/fall should be absurd as I get more familiar with places in the East Bay and discover new places here in town I've seen them at The Ryman in Nashville and House of Blues in Boston. Both shows were excellent
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Planet B this song is apparently not on their upcoming album, because of course it isn't Spoiler
little late here as this album came out last year but nothing came up on a search and it's good stuff if you ask me Emma Ruth Rundle - Darkhorse
got on YouTube to check my subscriptions for new videos and saw Sub Pop linking to a new song by The Gotobeds one of the comments killed me
Well, I'd been holding out hope for a rebound, but I think I just have to face the facts that Tame's gone down a road that just isn't for me. Honestly I think I'd be in to the synth heavy direction if some aspect of the instrumentals had a little punch, and Currents definitely had a few moments, but for the most part when you combine the instrumentation with Kevin's soft vocals it just reminds me of the early 90's easy listening radio I had to stomach at my dad's work when I'd visit as a kid. This must be how early Yes fans felt when Owner of a Lonely Heart became their biggest hit, which coincidentally was the only song I knew by them for years because it was played on the radio at my father's work, we've come full circle here. In conclusion, I'm just upset that I can't enjoy what everyone else seems to still love. /diary
Given your music sensibilities this makes sense. I can see why you wouldn't like it. I prefer this Tame to the more psychedelic Tame.
I love both Tames. Elephant and Live/Paranoia are prob my favorite two songs of theirs, and they're very different.
