They've been saying for week that they had an agreement of a 2020 4th rounder.

I guess the hold up has been Quinn's new deal with Dallas.

Hope he was better for you then he was for us. But its a 4th round pick. If he gets you 6 sacks, it's worth it.

I honestly think this offseason could not of gone much better than what has transpired up to this point. One more piece that needs to happen (reshad jones) and this offseason will be a home run. Next year, Dolphins can save up to $11.5 million in cap space by cutting or trading him. Indeed, the Dolphins can save up to $13.1 million this year by trading Jones after June 1.

Had to dump a lot of terrible contracts/old/underperforming players that wouldn't help us when we finally have a good squad again. Team is finally out of purgatory and we have salary cap available for the first time in forever it seems. The next 2 drafts will tell a hell of a lot.

Honestly it only makes sense. There's an absurd amount of top end talent on the Dline this draft. Why not take advantage? I'm hoping for an end or a tackle. Hopefully Sweat or Oliver, although Sweat seems unlikely to make it to 13 after that combine

    2019 1st Round pick > 2020 1st round pick correct?

So we don't pick at all in the 1st round this year, and we only get 2 2nd round picks for it since the 2019 and 2020 1st round picks even out? Which they really don't cause the 2020 browns pick will be in the 20s I think, while we lost the 13th this year.

Just looking at it from all angles, I think they would need to send us more than 2 2nd rounders to us

Yea 2 second rounders is a pretty fair deal imo. Also, it's certainly possible the Browns fall flat on their faces. The offense should be exciting, but there are no guarantees.

Miami is also reportedly interested in signing offensive lineman Michael Dunn, who worked with new offensive line coach Pat Flaherty with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Both moves have not yet been announced by the Dolphins, who formally added receiver Ricardo Louis and Brazilian defensive tackle prospect Durval Queiroz Neto to the roster on Monday.

DE Solomon Thomas (from San Francisco)
The Dolphins should be open for business at No. 13 as they're at the start of a rebuild. Considering the Texans should be making nabbing one of the top offensive lineman a priority while also owning an extra second-rounder, this trade should be a match. After swapping No. 13 for No. 23 and 55, the Dolphins use their first pick on the abundantly talented Simmons, who is a top-13 talent in this draft but might not be ready to contribute fully in 2019 after tearing his ACL. That should be just fine for a Dolphins team eyeing the future anyway.

Before Day 2 starts, the Dolphins strike a rare player-for-player trade, sending star safety Reshad Jones and his big cap number to San Francisco for Solomon Thomas, a former No. 3 overall pick who hasn't paid off yet with the 49ers and becomes somewhat expendable after they draft Nick Bosa at No. 2. The move clears up the free safety position for Minkah Fitzpatrick as well. The Dolphins then score an offensive lineman in Jenkins who can start immediately at a problem spot for the offense. The extra second-rounder then becomes a strong base end in Omenihu, who I think could be a star under new coach Brian Flores. In the third round, the Dolphins take a shot with a talented quarterback prospect in Grier who they can give snaps as a rookie at some point before re-evaluating the position next offseason.

After trading back 21 spots in the fourth round in order to make a big leap up from No. 233 to No. 152 later in the draft, the Dolphins add some depth at receiver in Grier's college teammate Jennings, who's thought of as the other West Virginia receiver but had a great showing at the combine and could be a quality starter at the next level. Now with back-to-back picks in the fifth round, the Dolphins snap up two defensive backs, a versatile third safety in Blair who can eventually take over for T.J. McDonald and a corner who can compete for snaps on the outside in Smith. The team stays local for its final pick with a developmental tackle prospect in St. Louis who could eventually push for a starting role at right tackle.

yeah if we essentially waste a 3rd round pick on a QB that will be best case scenario a backup I'll be mad

I’d be ok taking a QB in the mid rounds, but don’t like Grier, and wouldn’t want to move up for him. I like tyree Jackson and Easton stick. Give me guys with tools later in the draft and let’s see what Caldwell and o’shea Can get out of them before we move on to 2020 where we hopefully will get an elite talent

so we are gonna waste a pick in the first three rounds on someone that is going straight to the bench in 2020? no thanks

Preferably day 3. Not convinced Jackson shouldn’t get converted to a TE anyways with his measurables, so I’d probably be ok using a 3rd on him with the idea that maybe he converts in 2020. Stick is a 4-5 guy probably, but I think we should be taking a qb every year at some point until we get the franchise

Edit: looks like Jackson could be had day 3 as well

Would love the Chauncey pick....other 2 meh

    Miami Dolphins
Round 1 (13): Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan
    Round 2 (48): Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida
Round 3 (78): Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn

Ryan Tannehill, Robert Quinn, Cameron Wake, Ja'Wuan James and Danny Amendola, among others. They have holes all over the roster, which makes this a tough pick.

This is about where Gary's floor is in the draft -- he could go as high as No. 4. And he'd be the Dolphins' most talented pass-rusher as soon as he hits the field. Their top returning sacker is linebacker Jerome Baker, who had only three last season. Gary has enormous potential; the issue is getting that potential out of him every play.

Gardner-Johnson is a versatile safety who could play down in the box or cover the deep middle of the field. Stidham is a project; he had a down 2018 season in a run-oriented offense. But he has an intriguing tool set that will likely see him picked on Day 2. The team that takes him probably doesn't want him to see the field as a rookie, but with Ryan Fitzpatrick as the No. 1 in Miami, this might be the spot where he's most likely to play early.

Stidham has a good amount of arm talent but will need development with pocket presence and decision making (specifically holding onto the ball too long) because both were absolutely fucked at Auburn. He’s a capable scrambler and can gain some yardage on his feet if need be
