True. By comparison we didn't even know when God of War was releasing until like a month beforehand and I don't remember a ton of commercials for it.
I want to play Days Gone but I’ve learned my lessons on pre-orders. Originally with The Order 1866 and most recently with Fallout 76.
The coolest thing about going digital is not having the ability to trade games in and having a gigantic library of games. I really like being able to go back to games I own and play them when I want
I picked up The Order last year when the PS store had it on sale for like $5. That’s about how much that game was worth. Absolutely unacceptable that game was $60 when released.
Doubt it's true, but this was posted on pastebin back in December 2018. Really only posting this to say fuck Sony if they're charging $500 and not giving me more than 2TB. Should be 5, and that's really low probably.
Yeah, I'm not buying that. Especially the GTA 6 in 2020. They were pretty much all hands on deck for RDR2 until late last year. So would be hard to imagine them turning around and pumping out a new GTA only 2 years later.
I mean maybe But they sure abandoned rdr2 online real quick. Well, they never even started to care about it. All while still pumping out more content for gtao. Plus the absurdly average overall quality of rdr2 should be considered.
I don't buy it either, but not because of the GTA thing. I mean hell we havent had a GTA since ps3/360. Way past due. Rockstar has released 1 game this generation, which is insane to think about.
Maybe. But it took them five years from GTA to RDR. It just takes so long to make games now. Look how long it's been since we had a TES. They are going to miss an entire generation.
Yep they'll do the same thing they did with TLOU1. Release current gen then upgraded version on Next Gen. What makes you think that? Havent seen anything to suggest sizes getting smaller. History of digital downloading is telling us quite the opposite, actually.
Yeah, and that's a problem. All this time to develop, and the resulting game is extremely underwhelming (FO4 and RDR2). Bioware has been an obvious disappointment this gen, and they're catching hell for it...I don't understand why Rockstar and Bethesda aren't dealing with the same backlash.
idk man not all games are massive. some certainly get close to 100g but the only one on my hdd thats over is eso. also, most of these games are released on pc too with similar file sizes and those arent going to suddenly double because of a new console generation using 4 year old pc hardware. sekiro is 15g. on pc too. destiny 2 79g kingdom hearts 1.5+2.5 50g rdr2 98g division2 90g blops4 83g 2k18 50g ff15 79g cod4 78g blops3 70g tw3 6 divinity 2 21g mhw 20g apex legends 21g kh3 40g hzd 50g nier 50g
I wasnt disappointed with RDR2 personally. The game wasnt perfect but the world was incredible and the story was good in my opinion.
Not sure just straight up comparing console to PC sizes is the way to go, unless there is evidence that console game sizes have caught up to PC sizes this generation. What are the comparisons of ps3 games to PC games of the same time? If PC was way way bigger than PS3 back then, then maybe you have a point. I just know that the biggest ps3 games I can find top out around 40 gigs give or take a few. Those huge games were very much the exception back then. Right now on PS4 i have 8 games downloaded that are bigger than 60 GB and 11 bigger than 40 GB. There's no telling how many other big ones there are. I know I have deleted 4 or 5 big games because of the size. Even if sizes stay the same next gen, it will fill up quicker than people think. Not even taking into account backwards compatibility.
I'll stick with that opinion until the day I die. The original RDR is one of my favorite gaming experiences, but RDR2 is a complete bore. Controls have always been weak with Rockstar games, but RDR1 made up for it with a phenomenal story. I think there are so many open world games out there today with amazing controls, that it is making it more difficult to let a good story cover up the issues. It doesn't help that this game doesn't compare story wise with RDR1. Maybe (that's a big maybe) the story would have felt more engaging if I was able to fast travel. I just know that it's not a good sign when I have to decide to not continue playing the story, because I know I'll be asleep by the time I get there. Less because I'm tired, more because I know the trek there will actually put me to sleep. On the other hand, there are games out there that I absolutely can't put down, and end up playing until I'm asleep or close to it. That's not to say that the game isnt well made, or that it doesn't have good characters (probably the best part about it). I don't think all these well made things add up to a great game, though.
You ponder why Rockstar isn’t getting more shit because no one shares your shit opinion about the game?
What did you guys like most about rdr2? I specifically loved how bad the combat was and how it took me 30 minutes of horseback riding with my controller sitting on my desk to get from one mission to the next.
I loved everything about it. I play about 2 video games per year. It was the most fun I had playing a game since FO3 or the original Bioshock.
I understand RDR2's appeal. I will get back to it in time. But I'm pretty much playing MLB The Show or Apex on ps4 and then Stardew Valley on the Switch. Path of Exile on PC, although that always falls by the wayside once I hit end-game repetition.
I don’t understand how on earth people act like red dead was fun. I’ll accept that they enjoyed the immersion or the story (even though I thought the story wasn’t very good) or that they just fell in love with the characters (Arthur is amazing) but saying it was “the most fun they’ve had with a video game since games that were actually fun” is hilarious. That game was like watching paint dry in slow motion. And I gave that game everything I had for months and 100 plus hours. It’s the most overrated video game in the history of planet earth.
Just because it's an uncommon opinion, doesn't mean it is a shit one Also, this opinion is more common than you think..even on here
I do find it hilarious that audrew is big mad tho. I could do worse but it honestly makes me sad that RDR2 is not good
