To be fair the Isles are playing at New Nassau. Barclays can EAD. Looking forward to the new Belmont digs in 2021
I dont think many picked the Isles. It's like most feel they'd would have to reject their Canadian citizenship to doubt Sid.
A lot of people would bite, but it's hard to imagine what the penguins would get in return that would make them better next season. If there's a team that would want him and that contract, it would likely have to be a team that was close to a contender on a short cup window with cap space. That other team would be wanting to give up prospects, not key players in return.
This would make more sense imo. His contract is much more doable as a 1 for 1 trade for a good DMan. Maybe a 1 for 1 for a dougie Hamilton or something with a team that needs scoring and has good defensemen in spades.
Trading Malkin doesn’t help. He’s on a pretty solid deal, as is Sid, and they need to win now. You’re not going to net a return for Malkin that helps you in the short-term. I’d like for Kessel to go but his value has to be at an all-time low. Letang was pretty great this year so idk about him. The real question is if he can maintain. Maatta not playing in favor of Jack Johnson and Gudbranson seems pretty telling. He’s still relatively young and was one of their most consistent defensemen before the playoffs started so I imagine he has at least some value. The point is, Rutherford is one of the most aggressive GM’s so he’ll make some sort of splash. Bottom 6 depth is what they need, imo. They’ve been trying to find the next Bonino since he left and have yet to find him. I like Bjugstad, though.
biggest first round game since??? We probably burn the house down if we lose game 3 to Columbus last year but not near this.
What Columbus is about to do in the neutral zone for the next 30 minutes will go down in hockey lore Spoiler and might put everyone to sleep
