I quit playing RDR2 before I finished it. Story mode was a horse riding chore and I don’t like fishing
I got a backlog of games I need to get to. AC: Odyssey (stopped playing it when RDR2 came out) and I need to finish Shadow of the Tomb Raider
I planned on getting fully immersed in RDR2 and haven’t played it in months and didn’t get all that far into it. I want to get back into it but after a while I just didn’t feel like playing it
I honestly don't have much in the immediate future I am really looking forward to. Unless I am forgetting something probably nothing until Borderlands 3 in September. And I loved RDR2. It was the cowboy sim I always wanted. There are definitely things I would change and I can also see why it didn't appeal to everyone but its been a long time since a game had its hooks in me like that one did.
It took me awhile to beat RDR2, and still haven’t completed the epilogue, but I did really enjoy it at times. The traveling could be a bit much some times, but it was such a visually beautiful game. Not as good as RDR1.
RDR2 was too tedious for me. Carrying hay around and chopping wood to get dead eye up. I did enjoy going off and hunting for whatever reason. I always buy Rockstar games but never finish them. I never finished GTA5 and it’s the only disc based game I own now. Also this is the best Show in 3 years!
I am all in on the Ghosts of Tsushima game, sir. Until then I will rock The Show, Madden and revisit RDR2
I think so. People have already played the game start to finish. They are in the polish phase currently
RDR2 was really fun to start and then the Rockstar controls and storytelling pattern/gameplay starts to set in and it feels dated and slow. I'm at the start of the epilogue and just don't care anymore.
https://www.wired.com/story/exclusive-sony-next-gen-console/amp Good news on the sound. Nothing really changed from PS3 to PS4. Hopefully the controller sees the same kind of update. More buttons are absolutely neccessary.
I can’t see the sound thing making a difference if 90+% of people are just using their tv’s built in speakers. I’m eh on more buttons.
more buttons are god damn necessary. there's a total of 6 that can be pressed without removing your thumbs from the sticks and thats just far too few.
Really? I always just saw the same theatrical videos, but my viewing comes from Press Conferences. I figured it would still be 1-2 years out.
Yeah not sure what the difference would be for people still using their TV for sound. I use headphones, so I'm excited for it. Individual games have been improving sound somewhat, but system limitations are the problem I think. As for buttons, I definitely think it's a must. Games controls are getting too advanced, with all kinds of button combos. Just a few extra on the back would do wonders. It would have to be something xbox does as well, or we would still be hamstrung with the same limitations (other than first party games). I think you'd get used to it quickly, but it would be awkward at first.
There was "gameplay" at e3 Kojima said its way ahead of schedule People have claimed to have played it So seems like this year, this fiscal year at least
i dont necessarily need more buttons. moving all face buttons to the back of the controller would still be an improvement. it would be a very strange decision but still better.
On the same note of controllers, it would sure be nice if Sony implemented a way for you to map every game with whatever button scheme you want. They already kind of have the ability through the accessibility functions, but it would be nice to have it set to whatever you want based on what game you load up.
Now mapping controls to button is something I can get behind. I remember be able to do that back in the late ps2/early ps3 days
I really don't expect much change with the controller. Maybe some internal stuff but I don't see them adding buttons. Could be wrong though. Lots of 3rd party companies offering the extra paddles and what not.
Yeah definitely. It's taken a while for some of these to come to market. Hopefully the PS4 ones will be compatible with the 5.
SSD being confirmed is a big deal, too. Going to have to watch some videos and read up on Ray Tracing, but it sounds like the big groundbreaking leap console owners are hoping for.
There were probably the same fears from Nintendo to super nintendo controller or from the original PS1 to Dualshock
I'm really curious about cost. This sounds like it has some legit components. I haven't really been keeping up to date with components but I think that CPU is supposed to be really good. I hope we finally get consistent 60 fps. That is the biggest thing for me.
It’d be great if they deliver something that runs 60 FPS all the time, but I assume they’ll make some concessions for higher resolution or fancier graphics.
I'd bet there will be options for high performance or high resolution. There have been a few in the past year or so that give the option. Mostly 1st party stuff so far, I think.
Hi yes I'd like to join on the RDR2 Is a chore more than a game thread. Sorry but booting up to brush my dirty horse and hunt for hours to maybe kill something good but ends up useless becuase I did it too violently is not the video game world I signed up for.
