Usually on Live From [insert major] on Sunday Chamblee is talking non stop the whole show. He has like two minutes of talk today.
I cracked up when they had Tron do his reaction noises and then he described it as Marv getting shocked in Home Alone
Tiger #6 SG Total #4 in scoring average #5 SG around the green #2 in GIR This could be a pretty special year if he keeps up his ball-striking.
Can we discuss how annoying the live from set is during the majors? Turned it on Saturday night and listened to Rich Lerner call Moli the “Italian Ben Hogan” 3-4 times like he was just dying for it to catch on. Jesus.
Yeah when Tiger bogeyed 4 and 5 I thought it was over. Didn’t think Molinari would miss a putt all day.
Wasn’t quite there yet, but I did think Tiger would have to go fucking nuts on the back to run him down
Had a similar feeling. Although. Moli wasn’t hitting his irons well at all. You can only get away with that at Augusta for so long.
Moli was due for a choke. His shot at 12 was such a mental error. You literally go anywhere but short, anywhere. His shot at 15 was it all falling apart.
The second shot on 15....which they inexcusably didn’t show...may have been the worst one. Sure, he was in the right rough without a shot at the green. But for him to end up in the left rough, under a tree, with a left pin with 80 yards of fairway width to work with made no sense for his 3rd. I have no idea how he even got there.
Swirling and gusting wind that also impacted several other players right then...I don't think I'd call it 100% mental
Back edge, back bunker, deep middle. All spots to miss. It was an error not to take enough club even with winds swirling to clear the hazard.
I agree. It wasn’t as bad as Spieth’s in 2016, Norman’s 1996, or Rory in 2012 but it was bad because of how unflappable he had been all week. Rory and Norman were really bad because they had been cruising all week. Spieth had been grinding on Friday and Saturday but you can’t lose a 5 shot lead on the back 9 at Augusta. He still hasn’t recovered. All that to say Frank should feel OK considering this will be about Tiger’s win forever and not Frank’s loss.
He had a little tree trouble. His shot that he had was a little punch cut with a 5 or 6 iron to get to the right or middle of the fairway. Instead he nuked a trap draw.
Spieth won 4 times on tour including the Open after that. He's been bad in 2018 and 2019 though, certainly.
considering the conditions and amount of low rounds on Sunday, I agree. mols shooting a 74, all the wounds inflicted in the final 6 holes is an epic collapse.
Any Atlanta area guys (or anyone for that matter) played Settindown Creek in Roswell? Played it last Friday and it’s great course imo. Birdied the 18th and shot 76, but the rough wasn’t as penal as I’m sure it is during the summer. They did have overseeded rye fairways. I’d love to go back down there again.
It looked like his short game was still in order, he just wasn’t striking the ball like the previous three days. That was just a terrible swing he put on the ball on 12, only explanation is the negative thoughts took hold. I love that hole, it’s so well timed after the turn.
Played it a few years ago on a guys trip. Ansley is an absolute party and Settindown is a great track with an amazing logo. I got my ass kicked at Settindown and again at Tattletales
Everything came together for the first time this year and I was playing great. Proceed to pull a muscle in my back on my drive on 9.
walked nine holes after work this evening. First time walking a full nine since high school. really not too bad with my bag on my shoulders.
Just got to remember to take out all of the excess bullshit in your bag before hoofing it. I love a good post-work walking 9 in the spring/summer.
Yea man. We’re family members at Hermitage CC so I’ll go up there some and play w/ my Dad. Other than that just the usual suspects around town--The Crossings, Independence, Sycamore, Belmont. I like Viniterra and Magnolia Green, but those are both kind of a hike for me from the city.
Nice, I’ve played at Hermitage once a few years back. I think we went out on the Manakin course. Enjoyed it. I’m super close to Belmont so play there a fair amount. It’s unfortunate the county has let it slowly deteriorate and looks like they may end up repurposing the land. Only course in VA to host a major and has great potential if it were ever restored.
Had a parents preschool event and met the mom of one of my son's friends and she has the same name as me....so that's easy to remember.
