If you have a traditional house those look good, if you have a contemporary or modern space I recommend a peek at grey Lueders stone.
Yeah the outside of my house is not modern or contemporary. I like the pattern in that picture though.
I'm about to buy a house that has a salt pool Thought it was a good thing bc one of my kids has sensitive skin, but reading last few pages you seem to be the expert and now I'm worried
I'm fully aware of nothing besides it is full of water with salt/chlorine added. I'm probably going to have to pay someone to teach me wtf to do
My pool has a Clear Blue Ionizer and has been very easy to maintain, I imagine converting yours would be pretty easy if you're handy with PVC. It still requires chlorine tablets but I'm kind of surprised how little it uses.
I just read entire thread and I now hate my new pool I was super excited about. Not positive but pretty sure the equipment is Hayward too Thanks TMB for crushing my spirit
I am already staying the night in a Fort Worth due to my ridiculous workload out here today and tomorrow. I will update thread when I get to the brewery or hotel this evening.
that's your own damn fault. When I put a pool into my house a few years from now, I will be asking a.tramp at least 34000 questions about design, equipment, depth, etc.
I mean obviously I would have asked him or someone a fuckton of questions if I was building one, but this one is preexisting so really not sure what I could have done Wife loves house, I love pussy
My 2 year old Hayward equipment is running strong. No idea if I'm supposed to be doing any kind of maintenance on it though? a.tramp ?
Semi-annual filter cleans and checking pump baskets and o-rings regularly. If you have a heater, fire it for 15 minutes at least once a month. If you have a salt cell, inspect it every 3-4 months and clean with acid-water solution as needed.
Lid o-rings when checking/emptying pump baskets. No lube, cracks, and debris on o-rings is a major cause of pulling air into the system, which can cause pumps to overheat, which can cause shaft seals and impeller to fail, which can cause $$$. Also with the lube, less is more. But some is absolutely necessary.
I will go in reverse order on the day, this is not the big property I started out on although it this still absolutely ridiculous. This has long been one of my favorite pools. Almost completely enclosed in a courtyard setting. There is a slight break where the grills/patio are but it is still covered. This is one of the first properties I stepped on when I broke away from working for a company and went out on my own. I promptly drained the entire pool bone dry after I left and had to return the next day to figure out what I fucked up. It took me about 3 hours the next day to determine that I had left a valve open to the overflow pit that is for a vacuum line. The entire pool perimeter drains into a pit and then recirculated back to the pool. When the system is running, no big deal but when the pumps shit off, any error will be known as gravity takes over. I claimed 50% responsibility for it and blamed the builder for the other 50%. No valves were labeled and all valves were shut off when I arrived as their was an issue and the entire system was down. Anyways, still going back 4 years later.
First time at this property, it is stunning irl. Vanishing edge is legit. Spa is really well done, actually another feature and basin that falls off the back side towards the cooking area. They did a banger job on the 3 bubbles looking back towards the street-facing portion of the house. Lots of electrical for all the lights and stuff Favorite feature is the 4hp Speck pump that powers the swim-jet. Speck pump is closest pump with the giraffe neck sized plumbing. Swim-jet. Emma could attempt to swim against that at it's highest setting and might not ever touch the wall.
And got to drink another beer and will get to the ridiculous one. I will preface it with it was the first time I was there and armed guards were patrolling the property at all times. So I did not get great pics as I was not trying to hold a photoshoot.
This pool hangs on a hillside, notice the net as it is about a 30' drop to ground, which is sloped drastically down and falls another 40' to the creekbed. The patio situation is ridiculous. Brick pizza oven, commercial grade Old Hickory smoker, etc. Looking towards pool from basement level. Not seen to the left, a bar in the basement that would put most bars in the metro to shame. Wine cellar, billiards, shuffleboard, all the whiskey and liquor.
The "Island Fountain" on the west terrace (pardon the mess, landscaping changes are occurring) "The Romper Pool" in the courtyard, for kids to splash in The special equipment for these two bodies. The equipment is located 50' below water level. These pumps and the filters cost about 10× the cost of normal pumps and filters and can handle 3 times the pressure. The pool equipment The pool spillover equipment and catch pit And just because, the bank of HVAV for the house. You thought you had problems when your a.c. shot shit. Also worth mentioning, the HVAC is below the pool bottom.
Not pictured is the courtyard spa as I only had a 15 minute window to address that body and equipment as the master suite opens into it and the Mrs was trying to get ready and get gone to catch a flight.
Definitely closer to the former than the latter. You do not go on this property unannounced and if you do, you are not worried about a Segway.
It is true, I fully embrace the sentiments that MoJo just expressed as I am beaten down by unachievable every damn day.
