Have not read the thread to day but my read of the documents is that if nothing illegal transpired then it was either only by accident in some cases that there methods weren’t illegal, their intent certainly was, or that their specific actions weren’t illegal because nobody had thought we needed specific laws to criminalize the weaponization of foreign interference into our elections because there had never been a person who would do such a thing. The most foundational impact of this report is that it’s a precedent for and blue print foreign governments to interfere in our elections unpunished. One of my biggest moral questions of this whole shit show is whether or not these people understand or care that they are writing themselves into history as the chief architects of the undermining of the foundations on which the country they claim to love are built on. If they do understand, and don’t care, I can’t fathom how they have justified their actions. Anybody with an appreciation of history and government would understand that no power amassed can save you from the judgement of history and the truth. Trump lives in an alternate reality, has no knowledge of history and doesn’t care at all, but almost all the others have stared their roles in this in the face and said I’m going to do this any way. The moral failure in that decision, among that many people, is a sad statement about the appreciation and respect this country broadly has for its history and principles.
I think we should feel pretty comfortable taking a chance on a new generation of leadership based on where this one has taken us. Imo
This report brought back some flashbacks to all the forgotten friends we’ve made along the way. Tom Price Hope Hicks Rob Porter Rah Shah So many fallen patriots.
Oh yah, he also brought up when Trump said the Forrest fires wouldn’t be so bad if the rangers just raked them. He said now some wealthy are buying goats to eat the brush = Trump was right. Also said something about water in another country but I had tuned him out by then. That part started cause I mocked the sound cancer from wind mills.
I didn’t collude... ...well Obama let me collude... ...but votes weren’t changed... Gee i can hardly guess what the next development will reveal. Oh wait, we already know Russia penetrated voter roles and a system in FL. Edit: haha my phone typed "aw-w" instead of we, and there's a text change for that?
The problem is that people attack or question intent, rather than behavior. It’s similar to telling someone they have a bad attitude - their immediate response will be “No, I don’t!” Do they think or believe they are destroying the US? Nope. But their behaviors point to that.
Hope people understand that Trump's "I'm fucked" had nothing to do with what this Mueller report detailed -- redacted or not. All those spun-off possibly/likely criminal findings that were not pertinent to Mueller's constrained focus are what worries Donnie. Right now, he's celebrating a Pyrrhic victory and he knows it. All that still concerns him is what the SDNY and elsewhere have been tasked with. We're still at the Whitewater phase. We've yet to hear about Monica's dress.
Hearing reports they will be drawing up a list for document requests and will compose a strongly worded letter.
If we don't impeach for this then just get rid of the process. No president will ever do anything worse than this for such a long period of time.
Not sure what Huckabee son #2 has done with his life...but, he hasn’t murdered a dog or been proven a liar in a government report, so he’s GOTTA be leading in the favorite child department.
Lou Dobbs was an ancient crusty fuck when he was on CNN 30 years ago He must sleep in a vat of formaldehyde
I liked how hard she was challenged on that at the time. I would say that we could study this to learn her tells, but she lies every time she opens her mouth, so no reason to bother.
I get that. However, at the time, Trump almost certainly didn't understand how narrow the scope that Mueller's investigation would be. There is a reason why he specifically stated that his finances would be the "red line." But all Mueller could really consider when looking at Trump's finances was if there was some quid pro quo with Russia, Wikileaks, and whatnot.
