As a fan, it's not fun to watch in the scope of the current team, but Jeter's team has done a great job rebuilding a farm system that was....atrocious, to be nice.
Went from ranked 29th to 24th to 13th the last year years on the BA minor league rankings. And we’ll be for sure getting a bump even further than that by the end of the year
wait it out if you have to. They waited it out on Realmuto and at least ended up with a top 30 prospect. They completely blew the Yelich trade. Don't care who was around at decision time.
And what return would have made you happy? We offered Yelich for Acuna and the Braves weren’t interested so we weren’t going to get an Acuna-like return for him No matter what we got in return for Yelich it wouldn’t have been an equal trade
naw, but they ended up with a guy who can't hit in the majors as the highlight of their return. I'm not saying they should have held out for Acuna type return, but still... You can't walk away from that deal with what they did.
Don't understand the Acuna offer anyway. I assume the reason we traded Yelich is because he was going to cost a fortune soon and they didn't want to be responsible for a contract of that size at this point in the rebuild. Acuna is no different.
Yelich is signed for like 3 more years at an absolute steal of a deal. Trading Yelich made sense, but they had a legit young all star cost controlled until like 2023 and completely flopped on trading him.
We traded him because he and his agent asked for a trade as Yelich didn’t want to be apart of a rebuild after we traded ozuna and stanton
Marlins are averaging 2.55 runs per game right now....pretty sure that would be the worst in modern mlb history. Can anybody confirm?
I mean, who are we supposed to be getting hits out of? I know more of our minor leaguers than the major team. (Thanks Jack Parkman )
I would’ve hoped we’d be getting those hits out of the guys we got in return for the two MVPs and two allstars we traded away
Let’s also take this news with a grain of salt (I always sound pissy but w/e) considering this guy is 23 and supposed to be getting mlb experience by now Doesn’t look like Brinson will ever have more than a AAA bat
And it’s only going to rise up the rankings with our #4 pick this year and hopefully #1 pick next year And it appears the plan is to be patient with these kids down there so I don’t see why we wouldn’t have a top 3-5 farm system next year if these kids continue to progress as well as they have so far plus our newest addition(s) in this draft
You need to find a way to get these 23-24 year olds experience in the majors and see if they’re the real deal at this point
Translated: The Marlins had to trade the upset guy because he was upset the Marlins traded away their other pieces of the best outfield in baseball. You can't really blame the Marlins for that. Or something.
I mean we had yelich, ozuna and stanton and still couldn’t break .500. Our best pitcher just got killed and we had one of the worst farm systems in baseball so no help was on the way. It sucked losing those guys but I can’t fault jeter for looking at this organization and deciding to rebuild
The stanton trade we really had our hands tied with that no trade clause. We got Guzman back who has electric stuff but he may end up being a closer not a starter. Devers looks like he could be a top 100 prospect in the future but he’s still 2-3 years away. Ozuna trade I think depends on what Sandy’s career ends up being. Sierra was awful last year but he’s killing it this year and is second in the league in BA. Hope he can keep it up as if he can be an everyday player that changes the outlook of this trade. Gallen as I posted about earlier this morning is our best pitcher in the minors despite Sixto being ranked way higher and not made his debut yet. Yelich trade we’ve already covered
