Tbqh I’ve had this happen to me a handful of times over the years with an assortment of weapons. Not one ended in someone dying, but they probably all could have.

that's what I assumed and I think that applies to many, many great cops like yourself. But then you'll get a cowboy and it will be a surprise to no one that he is the one that ended up on the front page.

other news....Know the victim of this. I don't think FHP even made an arrest which is weird https://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/...ver-alligator-alley-crash-20190418-story.html

I respectfully disagree with him. I've seen too many people shot for disobeying the orders of an officer.

I'm not positive but I don't believe they have a wheel witness per say but the driver ditched the car at the scene and FHP is claiming the k-9 tracked a scent to the car owner's house or aunt's house. So I'm assuming the driver is scrambling for an alibi now.

We all know he was driving the car, just not as easy to prove it in court without a wheel witness...as id imagine you know

Could be the reasoning as to why there hasn’t been an arrest yet

I agree, that's a tough case, but assuming the car wasn't reported stolen, etc. I would say PC has been reached. Idk, I'm also used to arrest warrants being signed with ease.

The author of the article is ready to file on him "an 18-year-old driver who ran away from a fatal crash on Alligator Alley does not have a valid license."

Slamming his head on the pavement? Fuck those cops. Both should be charged with something. That's ridiculous.

In other words, imagine if every suspect was as violent as they prepare for. Well, that would suck. Luckily the police prepare for the worst and usually get to go home to their families each night.

It's really not though. Too many cops act as if they are walking through a combat zone with hostiles around every corner. See the two videos posted today. One man was killed for following orders and another was brutally beaten for picking up a phone.

Literally the cops that beat that 15 year olds ass said in their official report they feared for their safety. It’s a get out of jail free card. All cops have to do is say they subjectively feared for their safety and we give them the deference of divine beings.

agreed, but the talking point is "were actually in as much danger as they routinely act like they are in."

They aren't in a position to predict if this car has a gun or if the person with the gun is actually going to fire, so they enter prepared for the worst. I guess illini might be thinking deeper about their reactions. I agree that their temperament/actions can change the whole vibe and the outcome. Remember that hotel hallway shooting? Great example of their lack of poise resulting in death.

If my name changes were meant to fool anyone I would create a new account and have a different fan of section, not just change the name.

That type of illogical reasoning explains why you're unable to grasp simple concepts.

That video up top is Broward and a couple of my closest friends are Broward Sheriff and they explained some things in the video to me.

When the kid gets taken down his arm is under his body and hes trying to push himself up. Thats why they were shoving him down and punched him. If you notice the moment his right arm goes to the side, there is no my actions from the cops.

His hands are out to the side so the cop rams his head into the pavement. He puts his right arm on his forehead to brace himself against that and the guy round house punches him in the side of the face. Also they maced him immediately as soon as he picked up the phone.

Listen im not condoing any of it. Im playing devils advocate with it.

He went to pick the phone up after they were told to leave it and go away. The officer escalated the situation with that part.

He gets thrown down and the office jumps on him. Hes trying to push back up and thats when the office slams his head into the ground.

He probably could have gone with a much different approach.

Did you say you got that ridiculous explanation from 2 Sheriffs you know? That's honestly disturbing. It really highlights the issue people have with police who are willing to explain away any level of abuse in order to protect other cops. I know they are your friends, but how did you not push back at all? You don't need to be a cop to see that explanation is garbage. No offense.

their explanation for what happened did not match with what anyone else saw. They justified, on some level, the actions of the cop who slammed the kids head into the ground and punched the kid, based on the fact ("fact") that the kids arm was under him and he tried to push himself back up, and that the cop stops when the kids arm is out to the side.

That is a defense of the cop's actions. They can say it could have been handled better, but they did, in their explanation, defended what the cop did. And their explanation was horrifically bad.

Your friends are full of shit, the kid’s hands were spread out and the cop bounces his head on the pavement twice before he puts his arms under his head. To me this is a power trip by the officer.

    Among the findings:

    • Most misconduct involves routine infractions, but the records reveal tens of thousands of cases of serious misconduct and abuse. They include 22,924 investigations of officers using excessive force, 3,145 allegations of rape, child molestation and other sexual misconduct and 2,307 cases of domestic violence by officers.
    • Dishonesty is a frequent problem. The records document at least 2,227 instances of perjury, tampering with evidence or witnesses or falsifying reports. There were 418 reports of officers obstructing investigations, most often when they or someone they knew were targets.
    • Less than 10% of officers in most police forces get investigated for misconduct. Yet some officers are consistently under investigation. Nearly 2,500 have been investigated on 10 or more charges. Twenty faced 100 or more allegations yet kept their badge for years.

Fortunately, the body cams are working. I posted the numbers from our area previously, 7000 recordings a week. 3% are even investigated because the complaints are pure bullshit. The guys that are shitheads get fired. Turn the cam off during an incident and youre done. Forget to turn it on, youre done.

Wish they would actually charge the shit birds that make blatant false complaints.

And lol at that study DBL posted.
