I have a dilemma with Endgame: Two options to see it on Friday. Can’t see it on Thursday because I’ll be at Jazz Fest. 1. See it in regular IMAX at 2:30 p.m. in Metairie — a suburb of New Orleans in case you didn’t know. With the film starting at 2:30 that means I’ll be getting out around 5:30, and this theater is right on the freeway. I just don’t know how I feel about sitting in traffic for 30+ minutes to get home. 2. Regular theater that’s kinda small, but nice. Old boxing gym that was converted into theater a couple of years ago. Sits about 70 in the “big rooms” and some others hold 30ish. There’s a 10:15 a.m. showing, and it would end at a good time, plus the theater is only about 10 minutes from my place. I wanna see this film in IMAX but is it worth being stuck in traffic. The only other IMAX showing that day is 10:30 at night.
I feel like it’s going to take me this long to emotionally decompress sitting alone in my car in the parking lot. A 30 minute drive wouldn’t bother me to see it in IMAX.
Among the many amazing things about the Alamo Drafthouse: bars are open till 2 am in some locations Good decompression times over a 512 IPA
Just watched IW again with the wife in preparation. It's all good but man the dialogue between Thor and Rocket when "it's time to be the Captain" is so well done
The movie really nailed the perfect balance between Ragnarok's almost self-parody of Thor and the more serious character from the earlier movies.
Checked the theater a few min away from me and there was one seat opened on the back row middleish at 6pm Thursday. Got that real quick.
Thursday at 8pm - friend of a friend bought out a theater Friday at 3pm - Wife’s office is taking their employees and spouses/partners Sunday at 7pm - small theater (8 rows), middle seats w my brother I expect to miss a lot on the first two - people talking and no reserved seats. Third one should be a comprehensive viewing.
Do we know when the embargo is dropping? I know the world premiere is tonight, but haven't heard about reviews yet. Similar to Infinity War, I expect it to be pretty late so they avoid spoilers as much as possible.
Well that is exciting. Thank you, gentlemen. Also, in case anyone is interested in watching the red carpet live tonight: https://www.marvel.com/movies/avengers-endgame/live-red-carpet-world-premiere
I’m gonna wear an infinity gauntlet and bring in a big bag of dust. Then just before the movie starts, I’m going to snap my fingers and throw a bunch of dust in the air, Lebron dump style
