I need to purchase a $350 plane ticket this week. This is also the month that we downgrade my wife’s CSR (her $450 annual fee should post this month.) What happens if I use her card to book, get the travel credit, then downgrade next month?
Maybe it’s all the rebranding and names of the cards but I’m a bit confused as to whether I can get the Marriott Bonvoy AmEx Business card if I have the Chase Marriott Boundless card. Any idea? I was going to hunt down the answer but thought I’d check here first. I’d think I could but want to be sure before applying.
Got the "we need more time" response for cip. Was hoping to have a new card by the end of the month to make a purchase by May 1. What are my chances and what should I do? Edit: never mind. Called the automated line and am approved. Is there a way to change the address where the card is sent?
Shooting from the hip here but if you call the automated line asap they can most likely change it before its shipped out. If not they can most likely cancel the one they mailed out and issue a new one and send to the new address. Should be able to help you.
I would get a human on the line and explain it. I had to do this once and they cancelled the original and mailed a different card
just got my weekend night reward from the aspire that we're going to use a the grand wilea in maui in august. couple questions 1) i don't think i can combine this with the aspire resort credit, is that correct? for example, book 2 nights via hiltonhonorsaspire.com, and then call and use the weekend night credit to cover one of the nights? 2) assuming #1 isn't possible, what's the best way to go about booking this? we're going to do 5 days at an airbnb, and then switch to the hotel for the weekend. was going to pay (points and $) for 1 night and then use the weekend night reward for the other. do i book 1 night (with points and $) online and then call and add on the free weekend night? can i take care of that all on the phone?
Do you have enough to book the two nights on points? I believe you can do it the first way, just call the diamond desk and they’ll help you situate it. If anything, you’ll just have two separate reservations, back to back. Still, I would lean towards booking your first two nights on points if you have enough, then save that $250 to enjoy at the resort for drinks, food, spa stuff. If ever in doubt, always call the Diamond Desk. They’re very helpful (usually) and will help you work around things like that.
always forget about the diamond desk. will give them a call and see what can be done. and yes, i have enough to cover 2 nights with points
Oh wait, you’re only doing two nights. Call and book the first on points and the second with your reward night. They will either do two separate reservations or be able to combine them. One time, the lady just credited me 80,000 points for my cert and then booked my stay all on points.
Hey guys, does the Chase CSR/CSP double dip still work? Have a friend just getting into the game who was asking? Thanks.
gonna be recovering from surgery the next 6ish weeks, so I was going to start playing around and doing some early planning for honeymoon next july. we're thinking about going to europe (portugal, spain and france) using chase UR. any good write-ups, tips? what's the best airline to transfer points to?
I’ve done three Europe trips all by transferring Chase points to United and have gotten good value each time. United also has some good European travel partners so you have several options
Doing a European trip this July with mostly UR points. Hyatt, Hyatt, and Hyatt for hotels. For airlines we found avios points via Aer Lingus/British Airways and flying blue miles via Air France to be great value as well. I would also look into Ibera with avios points as well.
I have not weighed it or anything, but my replacement amex plat seems lighter than my old one. Also, the lettering (embossing?) on the backing is not as nice, iyam /snobbery
Doing honeymoon this July to spain and portugal. You can book Iberia w BA avios. 75k points each way for business class normally but if you keep an eye on bonus transfers, BA sometimes does that. A bit back they had a 40% transfer bonus through amex so I only had to transfer like 55k miles each way for B class on Iberia.
30% bonus chase UR to british airways https://thepointsguy.com/news/chase-first-ever-transfer-bonus-30-british-airways/
Thoughts on the Barclaycard Arrival Plus? https://thepointsguy.com/news/barclaycard-arrival-plus-current-offer/
I feel like an idiot - how do I find my referral link for either the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Bonvoy /Marriot card
Are there any cards out there that offer as a bonus category medical expenses or big box retailers like Walmart/Target? Right now, the best rates I know of on those are a double cash card or CFU.
A wild referral bonus appeared in my Hyatt account this week...did one of you gentlemen go back through the thread and choose me?
I'm about to sign up for it this week to help fund a trip to Maine/NH/VT later this summer. Seems like an easy $800.
My Chase ink application got denied for a bullshit reason and I got tilted and went and got the amex gold with the 50k bonus. Amex wouldn't budge on giving me the 100k plat bonus. Gonna get cip later.
alright. going to ask one more time because I get paranoid that I will screw it up. closing today. Tomorow I'm applying for CSR and CSP. Is there a correct order, does it have to be on separate days, etc. Basically tell me everything I need to do to get the signup bonus for both cards. Already got my referral code.
Good News: Got Instantly approved for CIP 3. Bad News: Venmo no longer codes for 3x for it. It was fun while it lasted
Going to be under 5/24 as of tomorrow, first time in a very long time. Should I apply tomorrow or wait until the day after? I have a fairly large purchase to make so the sooner the better. Can't decide what card to go for. I think it's between United Explorer, Hyatt, and Southwest Priority (will they approve me with a SW Card already open? I have a SW Plus). Open to other suggestions.
CSR Monday night at like 9pm CSP using a referral when you wake up Tuesday morning Both in incognito I prefer weekdays for better luck with reconsideration
