Agree with this word for word. Cannot stand to listen to any player or coach interviewee on any podcast, even Lowe’s, who’s my favorite. You could pretty much guess what the answer to any question is going to be. I will drop everything I’m doing to listen to a “What up Beck” podcast or the random Raptor beat writers he interviews though.
Bill having to listen to noah shower praise on what a good dude Lebron is was enjoyable. As was bill comparing himself to AOC.
you could roll your eyes at some of it, but love Noah giving takes on American sports. Some interesting observations.
My condolences to any diehard soccer fans who have to listen to Bill talk about it. His daughter’s team plays the Barca style guys!
They both bear the burden of being media fodder. He tempered it, but it was still an ooook Bill moment.
If there was a subreddit called “feel people die inside”, the top post would be the audio of Trevor shitting on being a fan due to lineage, and the silence from bills mic.
Interesting “narrative” rant from Russillo a week after Jason Witten used the term a dozen times on the Russillo pod.
oof and now we have Daryl Morey going know-it-all about soccer when he's never even won anything in his actual sport. Soccer is really having a moment on the BS podcast.
Can’t wait to see how Bill spins how the Rockets could’ve beaten the Warriors now that he’s picked them to win after Warriors win in 5 or 6.
gave the Simmons/Russilo pod another shot knowing we were in the playoffs so maybe they'd be a little more on-topic another first half hour of old man cane waving schtick those two together play into each others worst impulses
Robert Mays getting right on the mic to say "welcome" when their podcast starts is so weird it's kinda funny The Press Box is pretty good. Bryan Curtis is in London for an extended period and did the same in Australia last year. Wonder if his wife travels for her job or something.
i've always enjoyed binge mode, but pretty much all of the thrones content they put out is really good
agreed. they need to chill out sometimes but their knowledge and passion are pretty much unmatched and it makes the show more enjoyable to watch.
the dave chang pod with joe beef chefs is incredible i'm not sure anyone listens to this podcast but it's probably the most consistently great one they have, but is often bleak and philosophical
always listen to it and this was a great episode. Liverpool House is one of the best places ive ever eaten.
Simmons November through March: “In the playoffs depth doesn’t matter as much. It’s who are your best guys.” Simmons in April: “Yeah i don’t know, Golden State only has 7 guys.”
he picked houston, so any "analysis" he provides of that series is colored by that plus he has always been pretty bad with in the moment, short-term takes, and its just more pronounced now that he doesnt really give much of a shit anymore
Was just coming to post this. He believes that Pop throwing a chair was a better choice the walking on to the court and screaming to foul like he did
Bills a professional at what he does, but he’s basically just a dude in this thread who built a career in that industry. I think we need to often remind ourselves of that, lest we get neck problems from all the head shaking we do.
How the fuck does the team not foul in that circumstance or have the presence to look toward the bench to see if they should? I’m guessing bill literally does go Bobby Knight on a chair if he’s coaching anything.
throwing a chair or whatever is dumb but it's insane how little flak pop gets for his team's failures. if dwane casey's or alvin gentry's teams don't foul down four with 25 seconds left in a game seven, you better believe those coaches are getting torched on every single 30 minute espn show. and though they talked about this briefly, the spurs have not evolved with the rest of the nba and are simply playing inefficient basketball. 2015 was the last time they weren't bottom 5 in the league in 3pa so it's not strictly a derozan issue, either. pop is a great coach - probably the best of my lifetime - but he's not omniscient. also, pretty certain the simmons criticism of pop was the "zag" thing where they imitate the first take people. he said that at the end.
That team not fouling is on the players, imo. Maybe he deserves more criticism, in general, but if you’re in the nba you should have that situational awareness on your own.
you could hear on the last pod that BS is ready to declare Brown better than Tatum but was afraid to do it out loud.
Chris Vernon seems like a total loser. Do nfl teams not send referee tape to the league to get feedback on calls they felt were inaccurate?
I still listen to Simmons with Russillo but I chuckle every time when it’s something like “Reminds me of the 04 Red Sox” “Back in 85 and larry”
Currently rewatching Mean Girls, it’s ridiculously hilarious seeing Rachel McAdams try and pass herself off as a high schooler
https://www.theringer.com/nba/2019/5/3/18527632/boston-celtics-playoffs-family This was very good by KOC. My dad had some health issues in the last six months (doing well now) so this hit close to home.
Rich Kleiman must’ve told Bill he wanted to do another KD interview because the Durant dick sucking on the most recent pod was nauseating
