I may just buy another Pioneer and use it when I do an occasional USPA meet. Really lean into it. Pioneer & Apeman Strong clothing for USPA Inzer and A7 for USAPL
Really struggle on my first OHP rep on any real weight when I use adipowers. Once I get going, can typically do the other reps easier but the first is terrible. Can OHP higher weights in my soft new balances than them. Guessing I'm too upright on the first and with the elevated heel I'm slightly off balance, whatever I'm doing is incredibly inefficient.
Yes I do seated barbell overhead presses. I do bodybuilding exercises and that is a great lift to put on some shoulder width and mass
US Open starts tomorrow. Sucks a lot of big names got hurt and dropped, but still should see some big lifts.
Never shit myself lifting. My guts shut down for some reason when I’m working out but afterwards I take a giant shit when I get home. Saw a U of A male cheerleader shit his pants doing incline bench when I was in college. His buddy pointed it out and he gave it a peak in the mirror and shoved his shorts into his ass crack and waddled out of the gym.
Marianna Gasparyan squatted 573lbs at 123lbs bodyweight. A 4.7x bodyweight squat. Her OPENERS will give her the highest Wilks score of all time. She’s going for a 720 score. The current highest is 668
Andy Huang certainly makes heavy lifting look scary at times. Always bleeding out his nose, spotters saved his ass here at 3:00
welp, my gym is closing. the owner and his wife are separating and she owns most of the business. not sure about the programming side, but having to go to any of the other gyms in town is a huge disappointment.
i would love to have access to the equipment, but i've become pretty reliant on the programming lately too. he ran that independently and has a client base that pre-dates the gym, so I am hopeful that he doesn't stop. not sure where to look for that, if it falls through too.
but other than the crossfit gyms we don't have another gym in less than an hour drive that allows chalk or is even okay weights dropping.
i was a few weeks from the end of this cycle and was going to try the powerbuilding plan. i don’t have any goals in particular, i just enjoy lifting this way and am vain.
one of the members has already claimed a few of the squat racks. but that was a few months ago, when the owners were planning an expansion and getting new racks. :(
Let us know if they are having a closeout sale. My gym is always looking for stuff on the cheap...errr...discounted. Rip has also now 'approved' us to host starting strength seminars now. So there's that. We are also hosting a sanctioned squat, Press and deadlift, AKA 'strength lifting' meet on 6/1.
Juggernaut just came out with a Powerbuilding “AI” program that may be something you’d be interested in
i will look into that. the program was included in my gym membership, if I have to pay separately for programming and gym, the juggernaut is cheaper per month.
RPE 10 On a strength block right now with sets of 6, but was nervous about what the next block would be. Got it today and it is sets of....4. Praise be to Chadbot.
This was an interesting interview I enjoyed. If he was clean then feel his side but if he wasn't, some all time bullshit. Bunch of contradicting stuff too, quit Olympic lifting because it was too dirty but then moved onto strongman and WWE.
Ordering one of the bars hensleya recommended and some rubber gym tiles for my garage. Do weights matter or should I just go for the cheapest option? My goal is just to add an extra deadlift/barbell day that I'm missing now with a crazy work schedule so perfect precision on the weights is relatively secondary
