It's this one for the Bowman Draft History sets I'm putting together. I don't know why they stopped doing the series after two years, I love em. I dread having to buy the Jeter though, grossly overrated (and overpriced) like most Yankees.
This insert set is so much better than the Bowman Birthdays and #trending ones they did last year. I used to love the Bowman Scout's 100 insert they used to do as well.
Oh he was. He was a winner and leader. Chipper was neither so his teams constantly choked in October. Dont make me post the HR that Jeter willed Leyritz to hit.
How many MVP's did the Yankees and people in NY rob Ted Williams of? Everything the Yankees or Yankees players have ever done should have an asterisk next to it.
In your expert opinions, what would be the best set to start collecting for baseball? I bought 3 blaster packs of the Topps Gypsy Queen. Good looking cards but not sure how there value holds over the years.
Haha man you take this seriously. Would I vote for them over Williams? No, but baseball voters have always placed a lot on team success. Same is true in every sport. Mike Trout should have 5-6 MVP's now. I would have voted for him but I'm not going to get bent out of shape bc the voters that matter vote differently. I'm sorry that the Yankees team success has created some individual awards for their players. Feel better now?
Value? Heritage or topps update , bowman as well . Gypsy queen is probably my favorite though, it looks the best imo
No I don't feel better. We're talking about a franchise that built a wonky stadium you can bunt home runs to right field in then proceeded to load their lineup with left handed batters because they're a shady ball club.
I have the 89 Upper Deck set in the plastic still. Tempted to open it to see if the Griffey is worth having graded.
I have honestly never heard of this but it appears it's a running joke in the hobby. From Wikipedia: For several years, Jose Uribe's 1990 Fleer baseball card was considered a "common" in a dramatically over-produced baseball set. However, in the last year, several of these cards began popping up on eBay for nearly half-a-million dollars (or more) as a running joke that they were short-printed, or an eBay "Super Rare." Currently, there has been no merit to this finding; however, it has made the Uribe a desirable and hot card of 2018, 28 years after it was printed. Collectors have paid anywhere from $10 to $1,000, and some of the graded 1990 Fleer Uribes are fetching top dollar on the open market as card collectors now clamor for what was a common card.
Opened mail today, haven't change any of the cases yet. Deatherage and Dee are the highlight. Bought two Glasnow auto's for $5 each on 4/6, guy emails me to say he wont be back home until the end of the month but would ship them then, got a bit worried as Glasnow continued to dominate that he wouldn't send them to me. There's a Mike Greenwell auto under the Ruben Sierra, didn't realize it pre-photo.
They rejected my application. It has nothing to do with the sports cards either, it's that stupid dungeons and dragons bullshit. I told them I have no interest in ordering Magic cards, waiting to hear back. I may contact Topps to see about other distributors.
which distributor did you try to go through? there has to be a way that some of the guys doing ebay breaks and that stuff are getting set up as resellers without the gaming cards stuff. but then again that stuff could sell well, who knows.
"In 2005, Talkin’ Sports and Gamus Distribution merged and became GTS Distribution. GTS services retail only and does not sell to the general public, however, you can browse their products without needing an account. They sell various entertainment and gaming cards and supplies including, Break from Reality, Tri-Star Productions, Topps, and much more. GTS offers all the major sports cards for baseball, basketball, football, hockey, MMA, and even racing. They also distribute Asia-Exclusive products."
Apparently the fairytale cards are very restrictive and it requires multiple photos of the inside of your store showing you sell cards etc.
http://www.sportscardradio.com/buying-sports-cards-at-wholesale-is-too-easy/ https://www.cardboardconnection.com/trading-card-distributors If they were trying to pull that, then there are other places to go. I think this is the major one in the southeast: https://www.southernhobby.com/login.php I see what you mean about a company requiring pics of a location though, panini apparently does if you're trying to get a direct account with them: http://openacardstore.com/how-to-become-a-panini-america-dealer/ and that seems kind of dumb, since most of the sales would come from basketball and international sales, not store traffic to a physical location.
Sweet Dee Snider. Gonna guess you thought you were bidding on a Duke Snider auto whilst drunk, tired, or high.
What should I get an 8 year old who loves baseball/basketball/football cards? He lives in Fort Worth and his dad went to Texas.
