If I'm feeling too happy and wish to correct myself, I go to an unrenovated Winn-Dixie. It's the supermarket version of McCarthy's "The Road."
kroger is the largest grocer in the country and don't try at all when it comes to their bakery/cakes/etc.. Which is a big reason why Publix is better.
Just moved to Southern California and have no idea what to do with my shopping. I’ve only been to sprouts and Trader Joe’s because I’m familiar with them from home. Oh, also walked into a Vons once and it was shit.
Family is from Buffalo and they stan for Wegman's. I have been in one several times, pretty nice. Haven't been in almost a decade tho
It’s not that Publix bakery is bad. It’s that Wegman’s disrupts the curve. Come to Atlanta and I’ll treat you to some delicious Publix white chip macadamia cookies.
Lidl is a fantastic store. Prices and quality are great. Their bakery is top-notch for breads and the like. They're not going to make you a birthday cake though, so you still need Publix.
https://www.thekitchn.com/why-the-publix-cake-is-the-ultimate-southern-wedding-cake-244963 The Grocery Store Cake That’s Actually Awesome For people not familiar with the supermarket chain, you might be scratching your head. But people absolutely love a Publix cake. Not only is the Southern grocery store chain known for its bakeries, but it’s pretty much a go-to with a cult-like following when it comes to wedding cakes for soon-to-be married couples. “People have grown up with certain signature items from Publix. One of those items is our cake. So when it’s time for people to get married, they think of our bakeries,” says Maria Brous, a spokesperson for Publix. “Couples can come in and sit down with a baker to talk about how they can create a custom cake based on their individual tastes — right down to flavors and colors. Publix offers people the cake of their dreams for a fraction of the cost.” With five cake flavors, four types of icing, eight fillings, and 24 standard icing colors, couples have plenty of options. Plus, different flavors and icing color matching are available on request. The most incredible part? The average cost of a cake for 100 guests is $400, a bargain compared to typical cake costs in other bakeries around the country.
Thanks now I want Publix cake and white chip macadamia cookies. Spoiler I never don’t want Publix cake and white chip macadamia cookies.
Energetic and helpful at the beginning and end of shifts. If you asked me if we had more of an item in the back, I would go back there and not look. The only thing we had more of in the back was stuff on BOGO.
We had a convenience store owner buy about 80 12-packs of coke once when we had a really great deal. I helped load his car. He tried to tip me with a 12 pack. I turned it down.
Working dairy was ideal when you had a bad hangover and it was the middle of summer. Would hide back in the fridge and stock milk all day.
When I was a HyVee dairy clerk for 3 weeks we got to drink the damaged juices and mills and eat the yogurts
I want to put Public Cuban bread deep inside me. I want to put it in my mouth, chew it, swallow it, and have it deep in my belly, why do you guys have to be so weird all the time?
If you cut a hole in the end of the loaf while it's still warm, marcus ...well, you can figure out the rest.
I pretty much only buy the BOGO stuff at Publix. I usually don’t have a list and just fill my cart with whatever is on sale. Most protein, fruits, and veggies come from Costco.
