Every time I come to Torched Hop, I wonder why I don’t come here way more. Best brewery in the city imo.
I've always had a good time there. The parking situation with the club next door really grinds my gears though.
The standard before a show has been Proof & Provisions and it gets slammed so we've been going further into the Highlands and ubering in, this sounds like an excellent option.
Cypress wasn't too bad before Wheels of Soul last summer, far better than P&P. Livingston is in the hotel, right?
All things considered, it’s proximity to Peachtree is better than you get with a lot of breweries. Most breweries are far more isolated.
And the valet is always blocking the bike lane and pulling out into the right lane of traffic. Second best behind Atlanta's best restaurant, Mary Mac's.
We had our April rendition tonight at Bones. It was extremely good. I probably like Rathbun Steak more, but it's really splitting hairs. Pecan pie desert may have been my favorite thing.
This looks pretty cool. https://whatnowatlanta.com/the-east...fEAOxa20Z1p6P6ietu-yUM03PAEW57KxdkZZsL3Ei0yk0 Spoiler: Some of the article PLANS FILED FOR THE EASTERN, ATLANTA DAIRIES' 2,200-CAPACITY MUSIC VENUE More restaurants and retailers are expected to be announced in the coming months. Mary Hoopa's closed at 2nd & Hosea, will be replaced by a ramen spot. No loss, Publix fried chicken is just down the street and not $30.
You mean the two white people sitting on a bike staring at the fucking sun? That's just how Atlanta was in the 60's
Was taking the Marta down to the airport one day and this young gentleman got on at midtown with one, rode the train to the college park station, and then zipped off from there.
I don’t necessarily mind people riding them on the Beltline because it’s gonna be a clusterfuck either way, but the utter disdain with which people park those fuckers drives me mad. Just hanging into the street ready to pop someone’s tire!
Bonus Beltline anecdote: Today I witnessed some guy literally rip a vape and muse “Georgia has really changed a lot since the last time I was here.”
There’s an episode of some Buzzfeed show on Netflix about these scooter companies just dumped these things in cities and said “hey, you figure it out.” I’m not sure which is worse though. I also love that Atlanta’s solution to this is have ATL311 tweeted out parking directions that get 49 likes.
Happened in Asheville last year. They brought them in without telling a soul. City made them pick them up. The next day the company said fuck it and put me back out again. Yea...those things got detained.
I make sure to follow them, minus a helmet. I ride in the street and always park out of the way. I think the people who just throw them aside don’t give a shit about rules. If there was a way to fine the last user when a scooter is illegally parked that might help. Cars are not?
In addition to enforcing ppl following the rules of the road, there needs to be designated stations for docking the Scooters. They are littered everywhere. But I fear ppl are too lazy and rather ride them right up to their house rather than walk the final mile home. Hope, at minimum, this expedites the construction of more designated bike lanes. Would help the E-Bike, E-Scooter ordeal.
Right, they should have designated stations the same way that Citi Bike, Divvy, Relay all have them. That or give them a parking space
The point of scooters is to connect the last mile. I agree though that designated stations could help, but they would neee to be everywhere.
