but really. the only news out of Gainesville since Mullen was hired is his C- trolling of our sidewalk fanbase. it's fascinating.
They all love it until we pull some recruit that’s supposedly a Gator lock. Then it’s “if Missin Mullen was more focused on recruiting than shit-tier trolls we wouldn’t suck at recruiting”
I think they def enjoy the fact that Taggart has FSU more inept than their own program But it has been weird the increased Georgia chatter from them. Obviously stems from the separation Kirby has built over their program's current stature. Stampini has done like 3 or 4 articles just this week on recruits that Im highly doubtful even have committable offers to UGA; yet he is framing it up like its some massive battle against UF for whenever those recruits pick UF. Now its Mullen getting everyone in that fanbase riled up over how longs its been since UGA won a title....after them getting demolished by us two years in a row. Zero self awareness + simultaneously I think the UGA fanbase's 'give-a-fuck' about UF is at a 30 year low. All about trajectory of each program.
Mullen getting his face kicked in on the trail. Just like down on the banks of the fucking St. Johns.
Holy shit. Some UGA sprinter apparently just got impaled by a javelin at practice. Not life threatening, thankfully.
Not the first time I've seen/heard about that happening. You'd be surprised but throwing a spear a hundred yards in a populated area sometimes goes poorly.
I read that he was doing a backwards sprint drill and ran into a javelin that was sticking out of the field at an angle or some shit.
It's always seemed really irresponsible to just have like spears lying around. There has to be a better way to conduct that sport.
Like half the track and field events are hilarious to me. You’ve got Spear throwing Heavy frisbee throwing Small bowling ball toss Small bowling ball attached to a rope toss Jumping using a stilt Jumping 3 times Running fast while jumping over fences Running fast while jumping over a fence into a ditch with water I mean, the fuck?
I honestly thought to myself "we're still throwing javelins for sport?" when I read about it. That feels like a thing that we don't need to still be doing.
I’m going to broach a topic that I know a lot of UGA fans on the private board are annoyed at me for, but yolo. It’s May, so I know a ton will change before February, but I just looked at the current recruiting rankings, and it appears that Clemson’s success has knocked Bammer down a spot or two, but has hammered Auburn. If that holds true, I am ok with Clemson winning that game. Auburn has always cherry picked a 5* or two from Georgia or Florida, and they look like they’re getting completely shut out. Again, long way to go, and we’ll see how it plays out. Certainly seems like Clemson’s recruiting is affecting Auburn more than us, at least with regard to the superficial rankings. *I hope Clemson has a shitty year. **I would probably still root for them over Alabama in a playoff game, if the situation presented itself.
Had one on there for a little while, but it was annoying to be tagged with all the Clemson stuff that I don't give a shit about.
I changed my stance on this after I was corrected at the time, but damn I was so wrong. Fucking Bama vs UofSC isn't even on the same weekend. Congratulations on the primetime night game. Y'all have fun.
can't fault CBS for always picking the Bama-LSU game, the rankings always supported the decision. But nice to finally mix it up even if its not true SEC-SEC. in 2020 they will likely pick Georgia @ Bama so maybe this is the start of a trend.
Need a new UGA sticker for the car. Probably going to continue with this guy unless anybody has a better suggestion:
Agreed. I was more asking for suggestions in case people knew of good stickers of which I am not aware.
The golf polo's with this logo on them are the best along with the block G. I'll fight anyone that disagrees rn srs
Will have to go under my Candlebox sticker. Was thinking about this one, but can’t decide if it’s too hipster, or if it was ever an actual UGA logo.
Hey folks...finally got a house booked for ND/UGA in September. Going to be there with 8 guys (mostly UGA fans). What is our best bet for tailgating? Are there any local professional tailgate services we could get something set up with? I’ve been told Myers Quad is probably our best bet. How does that work? First come first serve? What time should we show up to get a spot? Etc. Thanks!
The tailgating company thru the school is sold out, so not an option. Could try this: https://tailgategroup.com/athens-georgia/tailgating-trailer-rentals As far as timing, given its a night game, I think you could generally find a good spot on campus in the 8am hour. Anything 9am after would be pushing it given the hype around the game. We are planning on our transportation to get to Athens at 9:30am. Yea Myers is easiest, first come basis. The best Quad spaces are on North Campus, but the school protects it by limiting # of hours. So Myers is the largest quad by far. Only issue with that is probability of ESPN Gameday setting up there, which will make real estate hard to come by. There are adjoining plots of land (in front of univ buildings such as Dawson Hall, Seoul Hall, Physics/Chemistry) up and down Sanford Drive - but most of it will get snatched up by the ppl who make it their regular spot. If youre aggressive, or have a company, you should be able to snag something. Try to get a spot at South Deck if youre looking over there (ppl setup tailgates all around there too). A less desirable option bc of distance, but easier to find space, would be parking at Carlton Street Deck and tailgating around Stegeman Coliseum. Another cool spot to tailgate it along the Railroad Tracks. Which also requires a Parking Pass - think lot E12 or River Road. Need to double check on that. (By the way, Look on our Rivals and 247 sub board for ppl selling individual parking; in addition to Stubhub type sites.) Tate Center, Legion Field, Baxter Street, East Hull Street, and W1/W2 are the other prime options for parking to set up a tailgate. But you will likely have to pay out the ass for that. Perhaps not. I *think* the Catholic Center does Parking/Tailgating...you could ask them. https://ccatuga.org/. Others may know of options Downtown. I know there is a good lot across the street from Creature Comforts. And some other Downtown spaces that allow tailgating. Bar Crawling around Downtown then setting up on North Campus isnt the worst option if youre wanting the cheapest parking or dont have a massive tailgate setup. Hopefully others itt have more concrete advice.
❤️ Thank you, fine sir! Searching around for tailgate services now. Most seem booked, but I’ll keep trying. If that doesn’t work, will likely stop by Myers for Gameday (likely), head to downtown for some early drinks and the noon games, then head south and try to bounce from spot to spot until kickoff. Are there any open container laws on campus to worry about?
Yes, on gameday you can carry alcohol around *campus*. I try to stick to plastic cups or cans. City of Athens Cops are usually cool about it bc they are too busy managing traffic, more important issues. Just avoid venturing off campus, and definitely toss out your drinks before walking around Downtown; although some ppl do it without issue. https://gameday.uga.edu/org/faq
Can you just set up a tent and tailgate on any piece of grass property? This seems totally different than ND where you need a parking pass and can only tailgate in the lot itself.
