Honest there's just too much good food. Go through the last 5 pages and I'm sre you'll see a dozen good recs from Toup's to Cochon to pizza and chicken spots.
Maple Leaf will have awesome live music each night (Carrollton area) Avenue Pub has the best beer selection in the city (Lower Garden) Bayou Beer and Wine Garden is cool spot (Mid-City) It's incredibly hot outside, so not sure if you want to be sitting in the sweltering heat. For food there are too many places to suggest. Stay away from: Mother's Mother's Mother's
thank you, and yes! at 6pm the head index was 110 so hot saw SO much today, now we are just chugging beers at pat o brien's. This place is great btw
Heading to nola for the first time in more than a year. Bachelor party shenanigans. Weather looks butt
It's been hot. Not that rainy. It's nola in august. It's hot and could be rainy. Tbh I can't remember the last time I checked a radar or forecast. Totally pointless
I think the season is almost over. The one I know of isn’t big on drinking...probably because they give you a gun to shoot the gator...
Going this weekend. Haven’t been in a few years and staying on magazine st in the Irish Channel/Garden District Definitely going to cochon’s and have reservations for The Upperline. Would like to go to the Turkey and the Wolf and check out Tchomp yard. Possibly a spot to watch the playoff games if anyone has a suggestions.
Eat at Parasol's, watch/eat at Tracy's Atchafalaya, Le Petite Grocery, and Shaya are also in the area
Go out on Frenchman Street. Acme oysters, really anywhere that does chargrilled oysters is so good. People that don't like oysters even like them with all the butter and garilc you really dont taste the oyster. Ernst Cafe and napolean house are two of my go to places if you're looking for a good lunch for $10-15
Atchafalaya was really good, District Donuts was good, enjoyed Hot Tin rooftop bar. Harrahs took my saints tickets money.
Staying at the Hilton Riverside. Only have one planned vendor dinner so far at Antoine's. Any other places or bars to check out? Will be there Sun - Wed night.
stric006 myself and 14 others will be in the Garden Room next Friday at Commanders for dinner. Been to brunch a couple times but this will be my first time for dinner.
Courtyard brewery is the best, and they'll have some other things on aside from just their own beer. Usually have a food pop up in the evenings. If you're looking for more of a bar there's always Avenue Pub or The Bulldog. Good selection and I think both serve food. Bulldog has a really nice patio. Steins is a great deli that has a crazy beer selection in coolers and more in a back room if you want to take some back to your hotel. Domiliese's for a poyboy. That is all garden district stuff. Toups Meatery for cunty small plates. Pizza delicious for za and it's down the street from Parleuex brewing. WW2/DDay museum if you've got several hours to do it. Don't go to Mother's.
I second Toups Meatery. Food was good and the cook was on Guys Grocery Games. I recognized her and she talked with us and gave us free food. /coolstory
Anybody had Molly's Rise and Shine yet? Their instagram posts are tempting me toward a Saturday morning visit.
Dr. John passed away from a heart attack today. https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/news/article_a962e500-8877-11e9-991d-2f4782c02ae0.html
WWOZ is playing all Dr. John tonight and they have pulled out some super deep 80s cuts of almost rap-like Dr. John.
Would be lying if I didn’t admit to getting a bit dusty after finishing up Gris Gris earlier tonight. Not sure I’ve been as sad to see a legend go since JJ Cale passed.
In town for the next couple nights. Staying at the JW Marriott. WW2 museum and Autobahn stuff tomorrow, what to do tonight? daddy fat sacks
What you looking for? Oyster Bar happy hour at Pascal's Manale. Beer at Bulldog, Avenue Pub, or Courtyard. Cunty dinner at Toups Meatery, or low key slice at Pizza Delicious. Lots of options. Where you staying?
Going to ACME Oysters tomorrow for lunch. Looking for bars around here for a night out drinking with the fiancée. Staying at the JW Marriott at the corner of Camp/Common.
You gonna walk to the WW2 museum? Courtyard is only a few blocks further. Frenchman is probably almost equidistant. I'm not super familiar with that little section other than having seen Alabama Shakes at the Sugar Mill and then stumbling into some random bar with a band and puking under a picnic table outside. Rusty Nail isn't too far away if you want to go to a Bama bar for some reason.
Got no problem walking/ubering just figured I’d be able to get away with staying close for the night (31st bday this week but trying to pace myself another night here, and then three nights in Seaside Thurs-Sat so unsure how crazy we’re getting tonight). But it does sound like bar hopping on Frenchman St is the play, anywhere in particular I should start?
Ended up at the Spotted Cat and then a few other places near there after doing the touristy stuff. Was a fucking blast.
