#Florida State Seminoles #Miami Hurricanes Come update this guy on how scared UF is of playing OOC outside of the state please.
UF has played Miami 6 times in the last 38 years away/neutral site in regular season. FSU is fine, but that's only 1 non-conference game and is home every other year. first non-conference road game outside of the state in 38 years is a straight up LOL stat. Don't even have to leave the south, there are dozens of schools within a few hundred miles of north Florida.
Yes playing a top 5 ooc game 14 straight years or whatever was a total cakewalk. It certainly would've helped us in the Spurrier years to play rotating home and homes with pretty much anyone else in the nation other than FSU but whatever.
aw I'm sorry, I guess that's why you play 1-AA schools in november every year, to offset that tough draw right?
It's only through concerned fans like you that our current AD has really stepped and taken this task seriously. I want to personally thank you for you interest.
Wonder how many times we'll play northern #tripod member #Michigan Wolverines in a bowl before a long awaited bout without our southern brethren.
Now that Mac isn't our coach, I'm much more okay with this likelihood. So long as we find a way to keep the few good players we manage to recruit from raping and/or being insulted by rape.
Short term win, long term loss for them. All these 2:1's are going to add up and result in a super jacked up home schedule down the road. They've got financial difficulties as it stands. As far as UCF's approach.. it's a mixed bag. I personally would be okay with one and done's with super traditional blue bloods. The Ohio State road game a few years back was a lot of fun. But the reality is, just like hows there's "no benefit" for p5's to play us, the way the system is designed currently there's not a lot of benefit for us to play them at anything less than equal terms. I'm highly skeptical the committee would actually give a shit, and all we really have to do is be the highest ranked g5 more years than not. Until the CFP expands, the incentives don't seem to be aligned all that well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That’s the thing, at this point the people who want to take shit about UCF will find reasons to talk shit regardless. The same people saying we look bad for not taking 2-1 deals would be the first to say how small fry we are for scheduling 2-1s. Haters gonna hate.
They need deals like this because they need people to show up their games. They can’t get USF fans to do it so they need to schedule these brand name teams so those fans can fill the seats
I somewhat agree with you in the fact that you are damned if you do and damned if you don’t. However, isn’t UCFs ultimate goal to get into a P5 conference? To do that, they will need to increase their national exposure. Taking 2 for 1s against traditional powers will absolutely help with that. Who cares what other fans think.
LOL at UCF talking shit for USF having the sack to take a 2 for 1 to play someone with a pulse while UCF just lines up cupcakes. That's hilarious.
I’d argue our national exposure is already as high as it could be in our position. We’ve gone 2-1 in New Years bowls in the last 5 years. We had back to back undefeated regular seasons. Our national championship claim started a firestorm that is still going. I mean look at this, a different school in our conference scheduled a 2-1 with Bama and people’s first thought was to talk about it in relation to UCF. I do understand what you are saying and would agree with you that in the past the was true. 20 years ago, that’s how a program in our position would gain exposure but that was then. Today it is a different world with things like social media which our athletic department is excellent at utilizing. We can maintain our exposure without making schedules that do not financially make sense for us. Until the playoffs change and we actually have a chance to get in, it makes more sense for us to just continue what we are doing
Alabama: “UCF just wants a bunch of cupcakes for their OoC schedule. They don’t want to travel to play anyone good” Also Alabama: “Our 2020 OoC schedule includes Georgia State, Kent State, and UT Martin all at home”
Ok, Bama scheduled USC and 3 cupcakes at home for their 2020 OoC schedule. That makes it sound better?
