'88-ish, a Mazda 323 hatchback, driving 6 hours with 3 friends to a show in Rochester we didn't have tickets for, "sleeping" in a McD's parking lot praying we didn't get busted. Dead stickers all over the car, glad we didn't stand out. There may or may not have been weed and some acid involved... Had a flat on the side of the NYS Thruway on the way home, driver's rear. No jack. Three of us took turns holding the back corner of the car up so we could change the tire. Good times...
Dancing to Scarlet/Fire in the parking lot, eating dollar grilled cheese sandwiches somebody was making in the back of a Ryder truck with homemade bunk beds bolted to the walls, not giving a fuck and not a care in the world. Those were the days...
Didn't think I was going to make any of the Dead & Co shows this summer, but just pulled the trigger on a plane ticket to ATL for the show in late June. Supposed to play East Lake on Friday afternoon and then hit the show with some buddies on Saturday.
Hoping for another China Cat/Rider ... crowd went nuts when Bobby let off the “I’d shine my light n the cool Colorado rain”
“I don't much like travel,” he says later. “It's endurable.” At TRI Studios, his “spaceship” of a recording headquarters in Marin County, he pioneered webcasting live performances, which seemed like a stab at finding a way to perform without hitting the road—though it proved ahead of its time. He concedes that a more sedentary life would make it easier to pursue the many other projects vying for his attention, but playing live is, for him, non-negotiable: “That's the gig. That's what I'm here for. I'm here to light people up.”
TheFreak55 and Taques got us a sweet new fan of, dudes. Add it here: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?sport-teams/
Drinking a Trim Tab Southern Sphere Double Dry Hopped Hazy Double IPA and listening to 1989 Dead on the porch
I listened to Circles Around the Sun on the porch today. Picked up some Cloud Architecture TheFreak55.
Yeah, the marshmallow. Agreed, they’re absolutely crushing it right now. Dreams of Oblivion is incredible too.
I'm biased as fuck and this is more a dad's thread post, but my daughter randomly sang the chorus to Tennessee Jed on the way home from daycare. Then requested we watch it when we got home. /csb
Looking for 2, maybe even 3 tix for ATL Dead & Co. this Saturday. Not really trying to pay $100+ for lawns on SeatGeek/Stubhub/etc. and CashorTrade also has like 40 ppl ISO tix and few selling. Give me a shout if you hear of any extras floating around.
Going deep into the 80s tonight. Jerry seems in pretty solid form, especially considering how things would go the rest of the summer...
Franklin’s Tower was a blast, seemed like you could hear Bobby get tearful during Standing On the Moon and they really got after it on One More Saturday Night
